Sustainable socio-economic development solutions identified at the sixth session of 10th Provincial People's Council

On July 14, the sixth session of the 10th Provincial People's Council officially opened. This meeting focused on assessing the implementation results of Resolution of the Provincial People's Council on socio-economic development, defense and security in the province over the first six months of 2022 and set out the tasks and solutions in the second half of the year; and decided other important local issues.

To assess some important issues

The sixth session of the 10th Provincial People's Council is a regular meeting held at midyear, took place on July 14 and 15. At this session, Provincial People's Council focused on objectively and comprehensively assessing the development of socio-economic development, defense and security, law enforcement in the province over the first six months of 2022, as well as identifying objectives, tasks and solutions to develop socio-economic and defense and security areas in the last six months.   

According to the agenda, at this meeting, the People's Council listened to reports of Provincial National Assembly’s delegation on the results of the third session of the 15th National Assembly; Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front reported fatherland front task performance at all levels for the building of government over the first six months of 2022. The session also assessed more than 20 reports, submissions and adopted 12 resolutions related to the socio-economic development and defense-security of the province. 

In particular, many resolutions interested delegates and voters, such as: Resolution on monitoring results and implementation results of relief policies due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in the province; resolution on regulations on multidimensional poverty standards in Binh Duong province 2022-2025; resolution on youth development strategy of Binh Duong province in 2021-2030 period; resolution on the establishment of An Dien ward, An Tay ward, Ben Cat district, and Ben Cat city in Binh Duong province.

An important part of this session was Q&A session. As expected, questions and answers were about the installation of surveillance security cameras, traffic safety, traffic jams, urban flooding; effectiveness of vaccination against diseases and how to ensure the completion of vaccine coverage for the people; plans, solutions to control epidemics, especially dengue fever; shortage of medicines and medical supplies for medical examination and treatment for people covered by health insurance...

Focusing on sustainable development solutions

According to the assessment of the Provincial People's Council, while the international and national situations are facing many difficulties and challenges due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on all socio-economic aspects, but under the drastic direction of the Government and the Prime Minister, the Provincial Party Committee and supervision of People's Council, Provincial People's Committee drastically implemented measures to achieve objectives of socio-economic development, perform well social security work. It is forecasted that until the end of 2022, provincial socio-economic areas would still face many difficulties and challenges.

Therefore, this session assessed and set out solutions to the effective implementation of resolutions, programs and directions of the Central Committee on socio-economic development in the last months of 2022; continue to speed up the disbursement of public investment capital, have basic solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles, especially in the compensation work; strengthen publicity, transparency, discipline in public investment, improve efficiency and quality in public investment; coordinate in progress monitoring, urging the execution of key projects, ensuring the completion of the public investment plan in 2022 according to Resolution of the Provincial People's Council. In addition, it is necessary to facilitate the improvement of investment environment, administrative reform, especially administrative procedures related to land, construction, investment, creating the most favorable conditions to attract investment and economic growth.

The session focused on considering solutions to closely monitor the market and commodity prices to take timely balancing and stabilizing measures, especially electricity and petrol; the organization of meetings with business associations and industry associations to solve difficulties and problems for businesses; solutions to traffic jams and local flooding in the province; strengthen state management of environmental protection; solutions to effectively implement central and provincial relief policies for those affected by the Covid-19.

The session also evaluated solutions to strengthen the protection and health care for the people to create favorable conditions for all people to access and use healthcare services, gradually improve the quality of medical examination and treatment...
