Tan Uyen town farmers jointly build new rural areas

Over the past years, movement of good production and business and wealth-making in Tan Uyen town develops strongly. To enjoy a stable life, many farmers in cooperation with local authorities positively contribute their labor and asset to build rural infrastructure facilities and implement socio-cultural works and so on.

Many effective models of production

 

In order to offer favorable conditions for farmers’ production and business, agencies and localities in Tan Uyen town invest and upgrade and repair many irrigation works in service for cultivation. This is considered as one of key tasks of the town Farmers’ Society in the process of rural industrialization and modernization.

 

Besides, the town Farmers’ Society annually holds emulation movements of good production and business for local farmers. These emulation movements bring practical results, impacting positively on poverty reduction and job placement in rural areas, creating a great change on economic and planting and species structure.

 

Since 2012, the town Farmers’ Society in cooperation with agencies and sectors organizes more than 500 training classes on technical transfer of breeding, cultivation for more than 20,600 local farmers. Especially, the town Farmers’ Society built 62 models of animal husbandry at grassroot level.

 

In terms of capital source for household economic models, since 2012 more than 2,800 local farmer households enjoyed nearly VND32bil from funds of Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Bank for Social Policies and so on. In early 2014, the town Farmers’ Society at all levels continued to launch the movement of good production and business among farmers. As a result, the number of households reaching title of good farmers in production and business at the provincial level accounted for 503 and at the district level of 1,616.

 

Nguyen Van Lanh, chairman of Tan Uyen town Farmers’ Society said that the movement of good farmers in production and business has promoted its efficiency on fields of agricultural production and rural service. Particularly, the movement’s result contributes importantly to solve jobs for rural laborers, spur re-arrangement of rural workforce in the locality.

 

Building new rural areas

 

Implementing the movement of new rural building, Tan Uyen town Farmers’ Society at all levels launches and mobilizes farmer members to join in programs, criteria and goals of new rural building in attachment to the mobilization of “All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas”. As a result, more and more farmers donate their land and labor or money to build rural infrastructure facilities.

 

Since 2012, with the motto of the State and people jointly build rural roads, the town Farmers’ Society at all levels has mobilized local farmers to donate money, land to expand rural roads. Their subscription is worth more than VND5bil and nearly 3,920 labor days. Besides, the town Farmers’ Society has managed, repaired 5 rural routes across communes and wards of Hoi Nghia, Thai Hoa, Khanh Binh and Uyen Hung.

 

Bui Van Minh, farmer of Khanh Binh ward said that since the society launches the movement of making rural roads and schools, many routes were expanded and grid network was covered and schools were built newly.

 

Over the past 2 years, the town Farmers’ Society mobilizes members to join in movements of cultural families, World Environment Day, gift visits to privileged, needy households and among others.

 

Nguyen Van Lanh added that the town Farmers’ Society will in the coming time hold and steer its branches to instruct members to shift agricultural and economic structure into the trend of industry-service-agriculture and simultaneously to survey and change plants. Additionally, the society will cooperate with agencies and sectors to transfer technical science, technology of new variety and planting and species for local farmers in a bid to reduce product price and increase competition.
