TDM city marks 41 years of southern liberation, national reunification

*Posthumously bestowing the “heroic Vietnamese mother” title to mothers

TDM city’s Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee, on April 28, held a get-together to mark the 41^st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975-April 30, 2016), May Day, the 126^th anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday (May 19, 1890-May 19, 2016). Attending the event were Tran Thanh Liem, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; heroic Vietnamese mothers Nguyen Thi Thao, Nguyen Thi Banh together with leaders of the city over periods.

At the get-together, delegates reviewed the glorious tradition of the city’s army and people as well as their noble sacrifice during the anti-American resistance war. Upholding this glorious revolutionary tradition, after April 30, 1975, the city’s Party, government and people have always joined hands to surmount difficulties and been determined to build up a more and more prosperous and civilized locality. Till now, the city has made hallmarks in the local urban development process; improved locals’ spiritual and material lives; reached 41 out of 49 criteria of a first-class city. All projects on industrial-urban and service development that have been invested herein will be great potential for the city towards civilized and modern development. It is expected that TDM city will be recognized as a first-class city in 2017.

On this occasion, TDM city also posthumously bestowed the “heroic Vietnamese mother” title to 8 mothers who made remarkable contributions to the cause of national construction, liberation and development.
