TDM city takes care of young workers

TDM city’s Youth Union has taken care of young workers  via many significant activities, helping them enjoy joys in life after hard working hours.

Useful playgrounds for young workers

During the 2013 provincial Week for Young Workers, TDM city’s Youth Federation held a program on how to prevent tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS for more than 100 young workers in Phu Tho ward; provided free medical check-ups and medicine for 500 young workers with total expense of around VND40mln; organized a youth festive day with many interesting activities such as a culinary contest, a paper-made fashion contest, a karaoke-singing contest… The city’s Youth Union also honored 5 collectives and 14 individuals for their positive contributions to Youth Union movements. Provincial Support Fund for Poor Alien Young Workers donated VND2.5mln to 2 young workers hit by labor accidents…

One of this year’s new features in the task of taking care of young workers made by the city’s Youth Union is to organize 2 useful playgrounds for young workers. Accordingly, the city’s Youth Union in collaboration with provincial Support Center for Young Laborers kicked off the first sports festival for young workers at Ngo Thoi Nhiem high and secondary school in Binh Duong new city. Nearly 300 young workers animatedly competed in events: tug-of-war, football and swimming. A young workers singing contest also took place at Idol coffee shop in Hoa Phu ward with 41 items in praise of Party, Uncle Ho, nation’s seas and islands, homeland…performed by young workers from TDM city and Ben Cat district’s communes and wards.

Nguyen Ngoc An, a worker of Han Xuong Vietnam Footwear Co.Ltd. said: “This year’s Month for Workers is very joyful and meaningful as we have received more attention from sectors and mass organizations via many significant activities. This is also a motivation for us to better live and work”.

Speeding up grassroots activities

In Hiep An ward, young workers had a chance to take part in the program named “Lightening up the dream of young workers” with many substantial activities, including honoring outstanding members of sub-unions for young workers; organizing folk games, a contest on traffic safety, a paper-made fashion contest themed environment… Whilst, in Tuong Binh Hiep commune, the local Youth Union also organized a football tournament, a karaoke singing contest, a culinary contest and folk games for young workers.

Nguyen Van Sum, Vice-Secretary of TDM city’s Youth Union cum Chairman of TDM city’s Youth Federation said that authorities and units of TDM city paid attention to implementing the 6th Week for Young Workers and the 2nd Month for Young Workers. The two event contributed to taking care of the spiritual and material lives of young workers via many jsubstantial activities.

Reportedly, the city’s Youth Union last year set up additional 20 sub-unions for young workers and 14 sub-unions for alien young workers; opened 15 classes on universalization of computer skills for 215 Youth Union members…
