After receiving a decision of becoming a city in June 2012, Thu Dau Mot (TDM) has continued paying attention to the planning and arrangement of favorable positions in order to absorb enterprises making investment in markets, supermarkets, plazas, aiming to promote the local trade-service sector in line with the scale of a first-class city.
Meeting people’s demand for shopping
TDM city now has a system of newly-built and upgraded markets, supermarkets, convenient stores at the local people’s demand for shopping.
Customers at Co.op Mart Binh Duong
City-based supermarkets, namely Big C, Aeon Mall Citi Mart, Co.opmart Binh Duong…are always crowded with customers. According to TDM city’s People’s Committee, the city is now home to 4 plazas, 5 supermarkets, 13 markets together many non-state trade facilities, well serving the local demand for daily life. In the first half of 2019, 398 business registration certificates were granted with total investment capital of VND336million.
The city has continued restoring order on streets around TDM market. The city also conducted functional agencies, localities to recheck and make a list of business households and scopes to set up a development plan in line with the local real situation.
Developing trade-services into a spearheading sector
Le Thi Kim Cuc, Chairwoman of Hiep Thanh ward’s People’s Committee said that the ward has always created favorable conditions for households to invest in trade-services, thereby improving their lives.
The ward is now home to 1,679 business facilities, up 216 compared to the same period last year. They have get involved in many business scopes of agricultural materials, eating-drinking services…In the first half of 2019, the city’s total revenue of trade and services was more than VND288.3billion or 55.44% of the resolution of the local People’s Council.
It is known that trade-services now occupy a great proportion in the economic structure of the city’s central wards. Whilst, this field is on robust growth in the remaining wards, namely Tan An, Hiep An, Dinh Hoa and Chanh My.
In the first half of 2019, the city’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services was more than VND73.95trillion, up 27.4% against the corresponding period last year. So far, the whole city has had a total of 21,888 individual business households with a total registered capital of more than VND3.89trillion. Possibly seeing, forming up a reasonable trade-service system is a major lever for the city to reach stable development.
For trade-services further getting thriving, leaders of the city will continue calling for enterprises to make investment in this sector while promoting more service-entertainment forms in the coming time. The city will also actively remove queries, obstacles so that large-scale projects in trade-services will be implemented on schedule. In addition, the city will boost trade promotion, market management, trade fraud prevention, aiming to effectively realize a policy developing trade-services into the local spearheading sector.
