TDMU holds get-together to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20

Early November 20, Thu Dau Mot University (TDMU) solemnly held a get-together to celebrate the 41st anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2023). The event was attended by Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Minh Thuy, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee's Organization Commission; Truong Thi Bich Hanh, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee's Commission for Propaganda and Education.

At the get-together, delegates reviewed the tradition of Vietnamese Teachers' Day. Established in 2009, TDMU is now home to nearly 750 officers and employees, with 48 undergraduate programs, 11 master's programs, 1 doctoral program and more than 18,000 students. Since 2009, the school has provided the labor market with 30,000 high-quality human resources, affirming its position and reputation. The school is further making efforts to achieve new strides in teaching and scientific research, making the Thu Dau Mot University brand fly further, being worthy of the trust and love of the Party, authorities and people of the province.

Speaking at the get-together, Mr. Thao congratulated TDMU’s cadres, lecturers and staff on the 41st anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day. He said that provincial leaders were very happy and proud when the school had 5 new assistant professors, contributing to improving the quality of the local education and training. Provincial leaders decided to donate VND50 million to each new associate professor to recognize the efforts of the lecturers.

At the get-together, provincial People's Committee presented an emulation flag to the school for its outstanding achievements leading the local group of universities and colleges in the 2022-2023 school year; awarded the certificates of merit to 11 collectives and 21 individuals who successfully completed tasks in the 2022-2023 school year.

It is known that the State Council for Professorships has just issued decisions to recognize 5 lecturers of TDMU as associate professors.
