The 6th Provincial The Blind’s Association Party Congress (2015-2020 tenure)

On Oct 30^th, Provincial Association of The Blind convened the 6^th Party Congress (2015-2020 tenure). Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Thanh Liem, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of Provincial Party Mass Mobilization Commission; leaders of Vietnam Central Association of The Blind, provincial agencies, sectors and 71 excellent representatives of provincial blind people took part in the Congress.

In the last tenure, due to attention of provincial Party, government, philanthropic individuals, organizations, blind people’s life was gradually heightened; 100% blind persons received allowances. The association managed VND1.6 billion of loans for funding home-based businesses. In 5 years, the association developed 121 projects to create jobs for 966 members, granted loans worth totally nearly VND7.8 billion. In addition, the association and affiliates opened vocational training courses, braille classes in order to help blind persons to integrate into the society.

The Congress elected the Party Executive Committee for the new term and the delegation attending the National Party Congress, and set out key tasks in the coming period with the purpose to help blind people to live happily…

Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Liem appreciated the achievements of Provincial Association of The Blind and asked Party, governmental levels to continue to take care of blind people, disabled people. He also hoped that the association would gain new achievements in the new tenure in the spirit of “Solidarity – Continuous innovation – Comprehensive, sustainable development for the happiness of the blind”.
