The first two districts granted animal disease safety certificate

Pursuant to Circular No. 14/2016 / TT-BNNPTNT of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) on regions and facilities for disease safety, MARD approved to grant certificate of epidemic-free zones for foot and mouth disease to Phu Giao and Bau Bang district; epidemic-free zones for classical swine fever to Phu Giao district. These decisions take effect from 26 February 2018 to 26 February 2023.

Tran Phu Cuong, Director of Sub-Department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Aquatic Resources, said that the province has prepared many dossiers from 2016 to receive the certificate of safe zone by MARD for 2 districts Phu Giao and Bau Bang. These are also the first two districts in the country to be recognized as animal epidemic safety zones for foot and mouth disease. The certification will create more favorable for businesses and farmers when exporting products. The active and effective control of epidemics will minimize the cost of disease prevention and treatment, thus increasing economic efficiency in husbandry. Consumers can easily trace the origin of livestock products from certified regions and farms.

According to Circular No. 14/2016 / TT-BNNPTNT of MARD, animal epidemic safety zones are districts, towns, cities under provinces that are confirmed to have no cases of diseases in safety registration for a specified period of time for each disease; each animal species and veterinary activities in that area must ensure control of the disease.
