Thuan An’s Veterans Society supports members in economic development

Thuan An town’s Veterans Society has promoted a lot of patriotic emulation movements among members. Especially, the movement of “Veterans helping each other in economic development” has received enthusiastic response from members. It has helped the local veterans uphold the fine tradition of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, strive to rise up out of poverty and legitimately get rich.

Defining that helping members in economic development is an important task, Thuan An town’s Veterans Society has continued promoting the movement of “Veterans helping each other in economic development” among them.

Particularly, the society has created advantageous conditions for members to get preferential loans from many different sources to impulse home based business. There were hundreds of members getting access to billions of dong in loans over the past time. Nguyen Van Cong, Vice-Chairman of Thuan An town’s Veterans Society said that most members have effectively used loans in economic development.

Also thanks to support of the town’s Veterans Societies at all levels, there has been an increase in number of well-off members and a reduction in number of poor ones. The whole society has so far only existed 9 poor members under the province’s new poverty line.

Many members have not only risen up out of poverty, but also become outstanding individuals in the local economic development. Veteran Nguyen Tuan Hai is a typical example for this. With his diligence and flexibility plus support of the local administration, Hai has bravely got involved in trading building materials. He has so far become a billionaire in the field and is seen as one of the province’s outstanding veterans in economic development.

Or, thanks to attention and help of the local authorities at all levels and other veterans, Vo Hieu Trung in An Son commune is also very successful in developing a model of planting orchid and breeding ornamental fish. Although the model is developed on a small area, it brings him the annual income of tens of millions of dong.

The two members have also offered help in terms of loans, nurslings, working days…to needy members while actively getting involved in social charity activities.

According to Mr.Cong, the Executive Board of the town’s Veterans Society will further maintain and promote the movement of “Veterans helping each other in economic development” among members. For the movement well realized, the society will propose solutions to provide preferential loans for members to develop production models, helping them rise up out of poverty and legitimately get rich. The society has also deliberated support steps for poor members so that they could better themselves.
