To strengthening support for young workers

Implementing the Project of Solidarity to gather young workers, the provincial Youth’s League and its affiliated units have flexibly deployed programs and models to support young workers in accordance with the actual situation to meeting the needs of job introduction, health care, cultural activities and raising legal awareness for young workers.

Practical care

In order to help young workers feel secure to live and work, in early 2022, the provincial Youth’s League and the Vietnamese Youth Union of the province cooperated with Nhan Kiet Manpower Supply Co. Ltd. to set up the application of "Job introduction for young members and workers in Binh Duong province.” By the application, young workers in the province can search for jobs and look up necessary information related to labor. By this job introduction application, young workers in the province can update specific and detailed information on the employment needs of companies and businesses in the province to find jobs of stable income.

Taking care of young workers has become the top concern of the Youth’s League at all levels during the implementation of the project. Over the years, many young immigrant workers have received support from the project's programs to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives. Since then, young workers have considered Binh Duong as their second homeland, rest assured to stay, to live and to work in Binh Duong. Notably, the fund to support young people with difficult circumstances, established under the decision of the provincial People's Committee, has timely taken care of disadvantaged youths in the province. Over the past 15 years of establishment, based on the fund, the provincial Youth’s League has awarded more than 1,000 supporting packages to young workers under unexpected difficult circumstances. Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam, a worker in Thuan An city who received support in 2022, said: "When the COVID-19 epidemic in Binh Duong broke out, I was very worried thinking about going back to my hometown - Dak Lak, but I was encouraged and supported the local Youth’s League to stay in Binh Duong to work."

In addition, legal propaganda and education for members and young workers in hostels are regularly organized to propagate, support, provide legal advice, and equip them with self-defense skills, prevention and control of drug and social evils among young workers and fire prevention and fighting in hostels and businesses. Propaganda activities have helped immigrant workers raise their awareness of life issues, contributing to the assurance of security, order and social safety.

To be with enterprises

At the end of 2021, the provincial Young Workers and Young Labor Support Center carried out activities to come to businesses to be closer to workers and businesses. In the activities of coming to businesses, the center directly captured the aspirations in employment as well as the working life of young workers; at the same time, diversified forms of bonding and sharing with workers such as legal propaganda, health care in the epidemic situation, and gift giving to workers in hardship. The activity has been strongly agreed and increased by enterprises to strengthen connections, build a harmonious relationship between enterprises and employees as well as enhance the effectiveness of the gathering of young workers.

In the past week, the Center of Support for Youths and Young Workers of the province organized an event for the presidents of Youth Connection Clubs to visit and give gifts at Production Smart Vietnam Company in Ben Cat town. The company has nearly 200 young workers who are ethnic minorities of Ha Giang province. On the occasion, the center gave 15 gifts to those young workers of difficult circumstances. The company's Board of Directors also expressed their desire to keep on to coordinate with the center to organize more activities to care for the lives of young workers and help them to participate in the Club.

Mr. Giang A Senh, a worker at Production Smart Vietnam Company, said: “Receiving the gift, I am very grateful for the attention given to us - the immigrant workers. I will try to work hard to stabilize my life and hope that the center together with the Board of Directors of the company will continue to support and create many healthy playgrounds for workers."

In the complicated situation of the COVID-19 epidemic, the health matter of workers has been deployed by the provincial Youth’s League to flexible facilities to propagate for workers at branches to protect their health. In 2021, the provincial Youth’s League coordinated with Department of Health, the Association of Young Doctors of the province, and medical units in the province to organize more than 50 propaganda sessions on the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic and 20 medical examination programs with more than 1,700 young workers receiving free medical examination and medicine. In which, the provincial Youth’s League coordinated with Binh Duong Medic General Hospital to give 1,000 free medical examination vouchers to young workers' members.
