Urban construction in the face of environmental challenges, climate change

On October 12, at the second session of the 6th WTA Mayor's Forum, delegates discussed issues about smart city - energy and the environment. These interested delegates and were questioned to find effective solutions for the process of urban construction.

From the practical point of view, Dr. Jan Fritz Retterg - Creative Director of the City of Dortmund (Germany) - introduced Dortmund City through stages and seven developed industries in this city. He also informed Dortmund's current and future city-building projects included six development strategies in areas such as energy and climate change; logistics and transportation; information technology and infrastructure; safety and security.

One interesting issue of the smart city project to the participants was the application of Blockchian technology, which was seen as a tool for stimulating industries, as well as an effective link between people and technology to solve social problems, especially to solve the problem of public transport. Delegates also questioned Dr. Jan Fritz Retterg about issues, like: the State in funding for running the metro project, building a free parking and electricity charging area. The delegates said that the State must have specific plans in each area, and then associate with experts to be able to implement the project effectively.
