Tran Ngoc Xuan is well-known as the best member of Dau Tieng district’s Minh Thanh communal Veterans’ Society in production and business.

 

His wife, named Gao, said that after national liberty of 1975, she married to Xuan who was working at Army Corps 412 under the Military Zone in the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang. In 1998, he returned and found it difficult to take care of his family with five children by low retirement pension at that time. Hence, he and his wife decided to move to Minh Thanh commune’s Dong Son hamlet in Dau Tieng to live and set themselves up in business.

 

In the new land, his family initially bought 3.8 ha of land for growing maniocs, peanuts, breeding pigs, cows…. Three years later, his family decided to plant rubber trees together with the above plants. Currently, his family owns 26 ha of land for rubber growing, 5 ha of which are under exploitation. Thanks to good business and production, his family has a car and a spacious house. His children also got married and now have a stable life. Noticeably, his youngest child takes a training course at the People’s Security University.

 

In addition to good business, the family of the veteran has actively got involved in the local social activities. Xuan is now chairman of Minh Than communal Society for the Elderly while his wife is head of the Farmers’ Sub-Society of Dong Son hamlet. Both of them always fulfill their entrusted tasks and receive respect from members of the above societies and the local people.
