Vietnamese Population Day marked

December 18, Provincial Department of Population and Family Planning organized a get-together marking Vietnamese Population Day of December 26.

At the get-together, representatives of the Department briefly reported on the outcome of activities of population and family planning in 2017, contents of population activities in the new stage under Resolutions No. 19 and 21/NQ-TW dated October 25, 2017 of Central Committee of CPV on action plans to disseminate information for demographic behavior and development in the province in 2017-2020. In a year of activities, the Department has rationally reformed its leadership and commands to gain major outcome. Majority of the population has changed their awareness and acted to carry out policies of population and family planning. The targets of 2017 have generally been reached and exceeded including the estimated 11.27% of rough birth rate which was down by 0.11% from previous year. The estimated planning of new anti-conception methods of 64,418 cases reaching 121.5% of the planning. The quantity of mothers screened before birth was 11,100 cases reaching 168.2% of the plan. The quantity of infants offered with screening was 13,150 cases reaching 110.7% of the plan.

At the meeting, the demographic officers and collaborators in the province met and shared their experience during the job with encouragement for the career.

On the occasion, Department of Health awarded merit certificates to 28 collectives and 220 individuals excelling in activities of population and family planning in 2017.
