VTIP to be set up
The World Bank (WB) will help the General Department of Customs develop the Vietnam Trade Information Portal (VTIP) under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support Vietnam in implementing the World Trade Organisation’s Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA).
The WB will also help establish a National Committee on Trade Facilitation, making it easier for Vietnam to fulfill TFA’s terms based on assessment of ministries and agencies’ readiness for complying with commitments.
According to representative of the General Department of Customs, the VTIP will be designed to assist exporters, importers, logistics providers and related Governmental agencies and help get access to regulations, standardization and information regarding tariff, reducing mistakes related to imports and exports.
