Work starts on Gillette factory in Binh Duong

P&G Vietnam Co.Ltd., on March 26, held a groundbreaking ceremony for construction of the more than US$100mln-Gillette factory at VSIP IIA in Tan Uyen town on the occasion of its 20th founding anniversary.

Mai The Trung, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial NA Delegation; Tran Van Nam, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee at the groundbreaking ceremony for construction of the factory.

 

Attending the event were Mai The Trung, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial NA Delegation; Tran Van Nam, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.

The factory is built on a total area of more than 8 hectares. This is part of P&G’s long-term plan on building firm material facilities for supplying its products for Vietnam and Asia. Once completed, it will be among P&G’s three Gillette factories in Asia.

Addressing the ceremony, Mr.Nam said that P&G Vietnam was one of the first foreign-invested companies making investment in Binh Duong after being reestablished. The company made active contributions to the local socio-economic development over the past time. In 2014, it was among 10 foreign-invested companies in the province with the highest State budget payment.

He also added that the company’s Gillette factory project was in line with the province’s policy calling for investment in the current period. The province also acknowledged contributions by the company over the past time and wanted that the company would further expand investment in the province in the coming time.
