Binh Duong ensures the committed fund to ODA projects

On 13th October, Tran Thanh Liem, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, chaired the meeting with Dr. Abedalrazq Kalil, team leader in charge of urban drainage and wastewater treatment project in Di An town. The project is funded by World Bank’s ODA. Provincial People’s Committee assigned the above project to Binh Duong Water Supply and Environment Joint Stock Company.

Dr. Abedalrazq Kalil said that currently the process of many main items, subprojects of the project was slowing down in procedure approval and implementation; including the connection to households. The World Bank hoped that provincial leaders would continue to pay attention to the effective implementation of remaining works of the project. The World Bank also appreciated previous projects using loans of Binh Duong, because of its good and superior results compared to other provinces. The World Bank also has a number of available resources to assist Binh Duong in implementing projects to bring better living conditions to the community.

Mr. Liem thanked and welcomed the information provided by the World Bank representatives. He stressed, Binh Duong had a long tradition of fulfilling its commitments, including commitments to provide enough counterpart funds for ODA projects. Mr. Liem was also the person who proposed the loan, directed the project of Di An drainage and wastewater treatment, so the project was implemented well. The delay happened, because the province must ensure the compliance with Public Investment Law. He hoped that Binh Duong could access preferential loans from the World Bank to help the locality develop projects for social welfare, education and community health care.
