Development for quality of people’s life

Thanks to well upholding its advantage in the shift of economic structure , attaching special importance to hi-tech agriculture, effectively realizing solutions on industrial, trade-service development…, Phu Giao district has changed vigorously after 20 years of re-establishment. The average income of the local people has reached more than VND54million per person per year.

Hi-tech agriculture as lever for economic development

Le Thi Huong, Secretary of An Long communal Party Committee in Phu Giao district said that Phu Giao nowsday changes a lot. This result came from the efforts by the local Party, government and people in joining hands to realize a goal of creating a better living environment with higher income for locals.

The district’s hi-tech application into agriculture has so far obtained obvious changes. The district now has a total of 500 hectares of farming land with hi-tech application; 500,000 square meters of animal husbandry facilities, many of them with hi-economic efficiency.

On average, district-based vegetable farms have obtained the average revenue of between VND500million and VND1billion per hectare per year. The figure is nearly VND2billion for orchid farms; more than VND1billion for fruit tree farms…For example, the vegetable farm of Nguyen Manh Phong in Tam Lap commune’s Gia Bien hamlet has gained the annual output of 120 tons with total average of around VND1billion. The 25-hectare pomelo farm of Nguyen Duc Thang in Tam Lap commune’s Gia Bien hamlet has also reached the annual output of 100 tons, helping him secure more than VND30billion in annual revenue. Whilst, the rock melon farm of Nguyen Van Cuong in An Binh commune has obtained the annual revenue of VND1billion…

All people enjoying social welfare

As of 2018, the district’s agro-forestry-fishery production value was more than VND3.99trillion, up 5.86% compared to 2017. The district’s industrial, home industrial production value was more than VND3.33trillion, up 12.86% against 2017. The average income of the local people was more than VND54million per person per year…

Under the national target program on new-style rural construction, from 2011 to 2018, the district spent more than VND4.49trillion on infrastructure construction. The local people also actively contributed land, working days, vegetables and crops…with a total value of more than VND508million to the local new-style rural construction program. Till now, there have been 100% of communal-level streets and ones to the center of the district covered by asphalt; 100% of hamlet-level streets covered by concrete or alphalt…

It is known that all 10 communes of the district have been recognized as new-style rural ones so far. The district is setting documents recognizing it as a new-style rural district this year.

Let no one leave behind

Nguyen Chau Long, Deputy Head of the district’s Division of Economics said that the district’s People’s Committee has made efforts in sustainable hi-tech agricultural development. So far, the district has basically formed up concentrated areas on crop plants with high competitiveness. District-based farms have bravely applied sci-tech advancements into production, aiming to improve their products’quality and value.

Over the past years, district-based hi-tech agricultural production was developed towards goods production in association with the market, enhancing the local economic effectiveness and farmers’income. Accordingly, the local farmers have bravely changed to using new varieties with high productivity and quality to develop perennial trees while mechanizing their agricultural activities for better results.

Mrs.Huong said that the district’s hi-tech application in agricultural production has brought farmers great results. For better development, the local farmers need to enjoy more support policies, especially in the domain of land, helping them well uphold land use rights, thereby reaching sustainable economic development.
