Local IIP in January up 24.19%

The province’s index of industrial production (IIP) in January, 2018 surged 5.13% and 24.19% compared to December, 2017 and the same period last year.

Of these, mining industry achieved a growth of 39.45%. Manufacturing and processing industry rose by 24.31%. Production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioners saw an increase of 26.97%. Water supply, waste-sewage management and treatment surged 7.75% against the same period last year.

Also during the period, all 25 main industrial products of the province reached a growth compared to the same period last year. Of these, painting products gained the highest growth at 59.07%, following by powdered milk products at 42.75%, semi-conductors at 40.05%...
