Local sector of trade-services continues reaching stable growth

The province has made efforts in boosting the supply of necessities for people, opportunely supporting enterprises, creating bright spots in trade-services in the common difficult period while making a momentum for development in the coming time.

Positive growth

According to provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT), along with well curbing Covid-19 pandemic, the province has reached positive growth in trade-services. The province’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services in May was estimated at more than VND20.6trillion, up 17.2% and 10.4% compared to the previous month and the same period last year. Of these, the domestic investment sector was more than VND19.5trillion, up 17.9% and 10.3% compared to the previous month and the same period last year while the foreign investment sector gained more than VND1.12trillion, up 6.4% and 11.9% against the previous month and the same period last year.

The province’s functional agencies have tightened control over the market, ensuring food safety and hygiene

Nguyen Thanh Toan, Director of provincial DoIT said that the province has still well realized provincial People’s Committee’s plan on stockpiling and supplying necessities for people while giving effective support for enterprises participating in the local market stabilization program amid Covid-19 pandemic. The sector has also coordinated with the Divisions of Economics of districts, towns, cities and food enterprises to implement a plan on the Action Month on Food Safety and Hygiene 2020. In a bid to stabilize the local market on books, notebooks and learning tools, the sector has so far had synchronous coordination with relevant units to complete the disbursement of 100% of preferential loans for 2 enterprises under a plan approved by provincial People’s Committee; implemented a plan on market stabilization for books, notebooks and learning tools for pupils in the 2020-2021 academic year.

The sector has also reached unanimity with the People’s Committees of districts about the realization of provincial Project on the adjustment of development planning for market, supermarket and trade center network to 2020. The sector has just also carried out a survey on the location for construction of a wholesale market on agricultural products…

Sufficiently meeting needs

The supply of commodities in the remote localities is very stable, well meeting the local people’s needs. According to Nguyen Phuong Linh, Chairman of Dau Tieng district’s People’s Committee, the district’s trade-service activities remain stable. The district’s functional agencies have regularly inspected and opportunely handled wrong cases in trade fraud. In May, the district’s People’s Committee granted 56 business registration certificates to individual business households with a total registered capital of VND31.4billion.

Whilst, Phu Giao district’s People’s Committee has instructed the local functional agencies to tighten control over necessary commodities with their supply ensured. In May, the district also granted 41 business registration certificates to business individual households with a total registered capital of more than VND23billion.

Doan Hong Tuoi, Chairman of Tan Uyen town’s People’s Committee said that the town has tightened control over the market, ensuring goods supply at people’s demand for shopping amid Covid-19 pandemic. The town has also focused on instructing the local functional agencies to strengthen market inspection and supervision, promote the fight against smuggling and ensure food safety-hygiene, especially for necessities.
