Local trade-services with modern infrastructure, high growth

Building up a synchronous and modern trade infrastructure system is a direct factor for promoting the circulation of goods and services, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.

Synchronous infrastructure

As a city lying in the gateway in the southern region of the province, Di An has put focus on building up a synchronous trade infrastructure system, well ensuring the local goods exchange and transportation. The city is now home to 2 supermarkets, 3 trade centers, 12 markets, tens of convenient stores and thousands of households getting involved in trade-services.

In recent years, Di An city’s economy has constantly reached high growth. The city’s trade-services have increased by 36.4%. The city’s total value of trade and services last year was more than VND 94.95trillion or 100.18% of the year’s plan. In 2020, the city has continued making the shift of the local economic structure towards gradually increasing the proportion of trade-services with quality and efficiency enhanced. The city has also attached special importance to reforming administrative procedures, absorbing investment projects, improving production capacity, efficiency and competitiveness…In addition, the city has made efforts in implementing the city’s Party Committee’s breakthrough program on urban development for the 2016-2020 period and vision to 2030, with focus on hi-quality trade-services in association with urban industrial development towards a new height.

Similarly, Thuan An city is one of the province’s localities with fast development in terms of trade-services, with 2 supermarkets, 3 trade centers, tens of convenient stores, 25 traditional markets together with thousands of business households. Truong Cong Thanh, Head of Thuan An city’s Division of Economic said that since 2015, the city has mobilized resources to upgrade and develop infrastructure facilities, improving the quality of trade-services. The city has recheck a development plan for the entire system of markets and supermarkets, creating the best conditions for investors; given priority to fostering civilized and modern distributions channels like supermarkets, trade centers…, helping locals get access to hi-quality commodities…

According to Ho Van Binh, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the province’s market system has been upgraded with stable operation. Along with this, province-based modern distribution channels like convenient stores, supermarkets, trade centers…, have step by step met the local people’s demand for shopping and promoted businesses ‘production-business activities. As of now, the whole province has had a total of 106 markets, 4 trade centers, 12 supermarkets, 266 convenient stores, tens of specialized supermarkets and thousands of individual business households, contributing to changing the local trade-service image.

According to the assessment of provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the business network of economic sectors has constantly developed, contributing to promoting the circulation of goods at home and abroad. The province’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services has gained the annual growth of 18%-20%. In the current deep integration context, the province has called on economic sectors to make investment in trade-services. The province has also actively removed obstacles so that province-based large-scale projects on trade-services are implemented on schedule; focused on perfecting the local retail system properly and resources for infrastructure investment towards civilization, modernity…, developing trade-services into the local spearhead economic sector.

Mr.Binh said that building infrastructure facilities to absorb investment projects and step by step improve the proportion of trade-services is an indispensable thing in the new context. In 2019, the World Trade Center Binh Duong new city (WTC BDNC) project was recognized by the World Trade Center Association (WTCA), officially opening up a new position for the province, helping domestic businesses develop international trade activities, contributing to promoting the local trade-service sector…
