Provincial tax collection achieves good results

According to the reported tax administration data in 7 months of 2019 by Provincial Tax Department, many large revenues achieved quite good results, such as revenue from Central State-owned enterprises was 131.74%, from local State-owned enterprises 122.09%, from FDI enterprises 125.84% compared to the same period last year.

Big revenue sources gain good results

Tax revenue from Central State-owned enterprises was over VND 771 billion 208 million, reaching 68.01% of the annual estimate assigned by the Ministry of Finance; revenue from local State-owned enterprises was VND 1,910 billion, reached 66.06% of the annual estimate assigned by the Ministry of Finance; revenue from FDI enterprises was VND 7,617 billion, reached 65.1% of target; revenue from non-state economic sector was over VND 5,027 billion. Meanwhile, personal income tax collection, land use fees, land rent, environmental protection tax collection... also increased highly compared to the same period in 2018.

The above results contributed greatly to the total budget revenue of the province in 7 months of 2019 reached nearly VND 24,806 billion, equal to 62.08% of the annual estimate, reaching 114.64% over the same period last year.

Contributing to tax administration, from the beginning of this year, provincial tax branch has implemented debt collection management and tax debt enforcement; reviewed enterprises owing tax arrears, urging tax debts. In addition, the tax sector has implemented measures to urge debt collection, resulting in a reduction in tax debt ratio to 5.75% ...

According to Le Thanh Quy, Deputy Director of Provincial Tax Department, the results of the first 7 months was quite good in terms of both progress and speed compared to 2018, thanks to the efforts of the whole sector. Besides, the application of information technology in tax administration such as online tax payment, tax payment and electronic tax refund for enterprises in the province... also contributed to the general results of the whole sector.

Not to be subjective

Despite good results, Tax Department leaders said that they were not subjective and did not underestimate the situation. Mr. Quy said that there were some shortcomings and limitations that need to be overcome, such as: some tax branches have completed their tasks at a low level, collection of non-state sectors in some units is still low, debt ratio of some units are still high...

In addition, the tax sector is also influenced by external factors, such as droughts and diseases affecting production activities and people’s lives. The situation of tax evasion and price transfer is complicated. Although tax authorities have made many efforts, the mechanisms and policies have not been really completed, not met the reality, thus affecting the management of revenue...

In order to complete the annual target, leaders of Provincial Tax Department set out 8 central tasks, which will enhance the implementation of administrative reform programs, information technology application and modernization of the tax sector in combination with propagation, support, international cooperation in tax administration; actively urge the collection of tax arrears to reduce tax debt ratio to the lowest according to the target set by the General Department of Taxation...
