Keeping the working program of the 9th provincial Party Committee for the 2010-2015 tenure, the 9th provincial party congress’ participants on Sept. 29 elected 55 delegates to the 9th provincial Party Committee’s executive board from a list of 65 candidates. The congress also elected delegates to join in the 11th upcoming national party congress.

At a discussion, delegates agreed on political reports delivered at the congress. Deputy Huynh Van Trai from the provincial department of Investment and Planning, said to meet requirement of shift of economic structure and labor in combination with urban development, gap shrinkage between urban and rural areas, development orientation for Southern areas of Thu Dau Mot town, Di An, Thuan An, South Ben Cat, South Tan Uyen, it is necessary to continue developing industry, urban area and service synchronously. In addition, all level agencies should adjust, add or map out plannings in conformity with development conditions of every locality and unit to excel the proposed goals, added Trai.

Regarding industrial development, Deputy Nguyen Thi Dien from the provincial department of Trade and Industry, said the province should pay attention to raising density of projects investing in hi-tech field, auxiliary products and should minimize projects using many unskilled laborers. Besides, the local administration should encourage businesses to invest in export fields of light industrial processing and handicraft as well as build projects of staple export items for the period of 2010-2015 to decrease costs for businesses and raise export efficiency.

Deputy Vo Thanh Duc from the provincial Public Security suggested, it is necessary to focus on building clean and strong Party cells and strong armed forces to maintain stability in defense and security, helping develop local socio-economy.

In terms of urban development, Deputy Nguyen Thanh Tai from Thu Dau Mot town petitioned that the province should allow Thu Dau Mot town to get incentives on capital mobilization, lending policies in a bid to help businesses upgrade the town; supplement staff for managerial units in conformity with urban development in the coming time.
