Activities of business bloc’s trade union improved

“Improving operational contents, forms of provincial business bloc’s trade union is among 4 breakthroughs to be implemented by provincial Trade Union for the 2018-2013 tenure.

The whole province is now home to more than 1 million laborers. Over the past time, provincial Trade Unions at all levels made efforts in realizing a plan on member admission for the period of 2013-2018 with diverse solutions, especially at enterprises with 30 laborers and above.

As a result, 95% of non-State enterprises in the province with 30 laborers and above have set up trade union locals with 196,290 members, beyond 69% of the set target. There have been additional 1,102 trade union locals, beyond 57% of the set target, two years earlier than the target of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL).

Truong Thi Bich Hanh, Chairwoman of provincial Labor Union said that further upholding results done, in the 2018-2013 tenure, provincial Trade Union defined that “improving operational contents, forms of provincial business bloc’s trade union” is one of breakthrough tasks to further protect laborers’ legitimate rights and interests, enhance their awareness of politics, occupational skills and working manners; build up strong trade union locals; boost dialogues towards harmonious labor relations, significantly contributing to the local sustainable socio-economic development.

Accordingly, provincial Trade Unions at all levels will concentrate on member admission at enterprises with 25 laborers and above; improve a task of mobilizing laborers to get involved in Trade Union activities; enhance the effectiveness of taking care of trade unionists’ legitimate rights and interests; raise the quality of trade unionists and Trade Union activities…

Provincial Labor Union will also attach special importance to improving training courses for Trade Union cadres. The whole province now has a total of 3,196 trade union locals, including 2,409 under non-State enterprises, with 691,881 trade unionists. The province has also paid more attention to building up strong trade union locals with positive changes. There are more than 50% of trade union locals under non-State enterprises getting the “strong, pure” title annually…
