Bau Bang bound for sustainable industrial development

After nearly two years of implementing the local Party Committee’s Program No.11-Ctr/HU on sustainable industrial development for the period of 2016-2020, Bau Bang district has reached robust growth in industrial development.

Accordingly, Bau Bang district has formed up a series of firms, generating jobs for laborers and promoting the local urban development process.

Nguyen Huu Chi, Secretary of the district’s Party Committee said that in order to reach the goal of soon becoming an urban-industrial center of the province, the Executive Board of the district’s Party Committee has set a Program on sustainable industrial development for the period of 2016-2020 with 9 groups of measures, including rechecking, supplementing existing plans and set annual plans; developing infrastructure facilities, human resources; protecting the environment and reforming administrative procedures…Noticeably, Becamex IDC has continued expanding the Bau Bang Industrial-Urban Park by 1,000 hectares under provincial plan on adjustment of industrial parks till 2020 approved the Prime Minister on January 28, 2016. With the expansion, the total area of the Bau Bang Industrial-Urban Park is now more than 3,200 hectares. This is a hit for the district’s economic development, soon helping the district become an urban industrial hub of the province. It is expected that the district’s total area for industrial development will amount to 3,342 hectares by 2020.

The district’s economic structure has strongly shifted towards the growth of industrial production and services. In the period of 2015-2017, the district’s industrial production value was estimated at nearly 17%. The district’s total retail sales revenue surged more than 23%. Whilst, the district’s agricultural production increased by 5.4%.

For sustainable industrial development, also according to Mr.Tri, the district has concentrated on clean industries, especially attached special importance to processing industries; closely combined industrial development with promoting material zones and building new rural areas; promoted relevant services and the shift of labor structure; brace up synchronous socio-economic and cultural infrastructure investment in and out industrial parks…

Mr.Chi added that in order to successfully carry out the Program No.11-Ctr, the district has researched and set a project on industrial development in association with corporate and collective economic forms…Accordingly, the district has given priority to fostering industries in association with material zones to promote the local agriculture and rural development, make the shift of economic structure towards the growth of industrial production in line with socio-economic development orientations of the locality and region, thereby contributing to the local process of industrialization, modernization of agriculture and rural development.

With the efforts by the local Party, government and people, it is believed that Bau Bang will become an urban and industrial hub of the province in the near future.
