On February 10, Becamex IDC, Sembcorp Development LTD Co. sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on developing 5 green, smart and sustainable industrial parks (Ips) in Vietnam in the next 3 years.
The ceremony took place within the framework of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to Singapore, opening a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, the 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership between the two countries Vietnam – Singapore.
The signing of the MoU once again demonstrated the wishes of the parties in establishing long-term cooperation and further development for IP projects in Vietnam. The IPs in Vietnam further commit to meeting green, smart and sustainable standards, using 4.0 technology in infrastructure development and management to operate businesses more efficiently.
Also at this event, the two countries approved an investment policy for Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) Nghe An II project. The project is planned to include 500 hectares of industrial land in Dien Tho, Dien Phu, Dien Loc communes, Dien Chau district in the Southeast economic zone of Nghe An province. This is the second VSIP in Nghe An after the first VSIP Nghe An in Hung Nguyen district. As of December 2022, VSIP Nghe An attracted 32 investment projects, reaching an occupancy rate of 86.4%, creating jobs for more than 13,000 local workers. The total registered FDI capital in this IP was US$ 744 million.
