Promoting digital transformation
Speaking at the forum, Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister of the MIC emphasized that the core idea of the forum focuses on two directions: Developing the digital economy by promoting both supply and demand for digital technology and the action plan of the MIC and other ministries and sectors to promote digital transformation in various sectors. To realize the development goals set by the Party and the State, including the target of digital economy accounting for 30% of GDP by 2030, Thai Thanh Quy, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission stressed the need to focus on several key areas such as completing the legal system and regulations; investing in strategic digital infrastructure; applying digital technologies in key economic sectors; building and promoting the data market and protecting citizens' privacy rights; developing digital human resources and encouraging scientific and technological research.

Over the past time, Binh Duong made significant progress in digital transformation, thanks to the strong determination of the Party Committee and local government as well as the support of the business community and people. Vo Van Minh, Chairman of provincial People's Committee shared that Binh Duong's direction towards 2030, with a vision for 2045 is to develop a smart urban-industrial ecosystem where digital economy, innovation and digital transformation play a core role. Binh Duong aims at becoming a smart city and a modern industrial hub where science and technology drive development, attracting high-tech investment and creating a high-quality living environment for residents. The province's projects will focus on developing digital infrastructure, enhancing the competitiveness of businesses and encouraging innovation initiatives from the community.

Mr. Minh affirmed that this forum was of strategic significance, not only for Binh Duong, but also for the entire country. The forum provided an opportunity to share knowledge and experience on digital transformation and the development orientation of the digital economy and digital society for localities. Speaking at the plenary session, Nguyen Hoa Binh, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the 2nd National Forum for Digital Economic and Social Development was very suitable for practice and development of the country. Currently, the national digital transformation process still has many difficulties and challenges for change in the near future. For the country's digital transformation to develop effectively and substantially, it requires a methodical strategy and focused implementation.
The Deputy Prime Minister asserted that the Government’s consistent approach is to take citizens and businesses as the center, the subjects, goals and drivers of the process. Therefore, it is necessary to strongly innovate thinking, awareness and actions; effectively implement national digital transformation in line with 2024’s theme: “Developing digital transformation with 4 pillars: Developing information technology industry, digitization of economic sectors, digital management and digital data; promoting proactivity and creativity; mobilizing all resources for digital transformation and the digital society; building culture in the digital environment and creating a civilized digital environment.
