Early January 29, Ben Cat town’s People’s Council, People’s Committee, Fatherland Front Committee grandly held a get-together to mark the 89th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) (February 3, 1930-February 3, 2019).

The event was attended by Nguyen Minh Triet, former State President; Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; Nguyen Minh Thuy, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Organization Commission; former leaders of the town over periods; heroic Vietnamese mothers, People's Armed Force heroes, Labor heroes…
At the event, delegates reviewed the 89-year history of the CPV. Further holding achievements done over the past plus the efforts by the local sectors, authorities at all levels and people, the town fulfilled and surpassed the set targets in 2018. The town continued reaching stable economic growth in the right direction; paid more attention to the fields of culture, healthcare and education with social welfare ensured; further maintained the local social safety-order... The town’s economic structure was 78.83% in industry, 20.72% in services and 0.45% in agriculture. The average income of the local people was VND114.9million per person per year. The town’s total production value reached more than VND116.64trillion, up 19.7% compared to 2017.
On this occasion, the town was officially recognized as a third-class city. This is seen as the premise for the town to make efforts in fulfilling the set targets. As planned, the town will strive to become a second-class city after 2020. Also at the get-together, the town’s Party Committee posthumously bestowed the “heroic Vietnamese mother “title to 14 mothers; awarded the 30-70- year Party membership insignias to 55 Party members, the first, second and third-Independence Medals to 37 families and the certificates of merit of the Government to 2 individuals with excellent achievements in the cause of national construction and defence.
