Binh Duong absorbs hi-tech investment projects

Update: 17-06-2013 | 00:00:00

Binh Duong has recently lured a lot of investment projects in the high-tech and auxiliary industries. Since early this year, many high-tech investment projects have been put into operation in the province with great competitiveness.

Additional high-tech factories

In early June, the Japanese-invested Kahoku Lighting Solutions Co.Ltd. inaugurated its factory specializing in manufacture and sales of various lamps for medical, electronic and aviation fields in the Dong An 2 Industrial Park. This is a hi-tech factory with total investment of US$2mln and 15 workers.

Also during the time, Takako Vietnam Co.Ltd. opened its factory producing and assembling hydraulic piston pumps for export in the Vietnam-Singapore 1 Industrial Park (VSIP 1). The hi-tech factory has brought the company’s total investment capital in VSIP 1 to US$40mln with products consumed nationwide.

Provincial leaders visiting Kahoku Lighting Solutions Vietnam’s factory specializing in manufacture of various lamps for medical field.

Prior to that, in May, DNP Vietnam Co., Ltd under Dai Nippon Printing Corporation (DNP), one of the biggest private corporations in Japan, specializing in multi-industries including production and business of printing mechanics, electrical equipment, accurate instruments…put its factory into operation in the My Phuoc 3 Industrial Park. Covering 3 hectares, the factory has a total investment capital of US$38mln and its products will be exported to the Asian market and some African countries.

KyungBang Vietnam Co.Ltd. under Kyungbang Group, one of the leading yarn and fabric manufacturers in South Korea has just inaugurated its hi-quality cotton yarn factory with 25,920 spindles in the Bau Bang Industrial Park. It has a designed production capacity of 6,600 tons of yarn per year with investment capital for the first phase of US$40mln.

Lee Kap Soo, General Director of KyungBang Co.Ltd. said with the state-of-the-art equipment imported from Switzerland’s Riter and Germany’s Schlaphost, this is the most modern cotton yarn factory in Vietnam with the monthly production capacity of 550 tons. The birth of the factory will contribute to raising the localization ratio of garment and textile industry in Vietnam.

Right shift

The effectiveness from high tech-based production is very great. Suntech Vina Company’s factory is a typical example for this. The factory was put into operation in February 2013 in the My Phuoc 3 Industrial Zone in Ben Cat District.

Covering more than 1.3ha with total investment capital of US$4mln, the factory is specialized in manufacturing rear-view mirrors for autos and rear-view mirror heaters. According to Kim Gyong Tae, General Director of Suntech Vina Company, the factory generates around 30mln products a year and they will be exported into Russia and European countries.

Similarly, South Korea’s DJV Co.Ltd., which is specialized in manufacturing LED monitors and car components for big corporations in the world, has worked very effectively. Although having less than 70 workers, the company’s annual export value reaches more than US$12mln…

In addition to well-built infrastructure, favorable traffic system…, workforce is a major concern for enterprises with high-tech investment projects. Binh Duong now has many advantages regarding the issue.

The development of province-based projects in the high-tech and auxiliary industries is one of the province’s good signs for sustainable industrial development. This has not only raised the province’s industrial production value, but also created favorable conditions for the province to absorb many other investment fields.

For better development, provincial Department of Industry and Trade will further focus on building infrastructure facilities in a synchronous way, creating a favorable investment climate, training human resources with high quality…to draw more investors, especially those with high-tech and auxiliary industries.
