Hiep An ward’s impetus on trade and service

Talking about Hiep An, many think of Dai Nam tourism site where attracts numerous visitors. Nearing the tourism site are coffee shops luring many clients. Many clients said that coffee shops in Hiep An have beautiful architectural styles.

From So Sao intersection to Le Chi Dan road, coffee shops, eateries have grown like mushrooms. On a road less than one kilometer, there are more than 40 coffee shops and tens of eateries appearing along two sides of the road.

At H.D coffee shop near Nguyen Chi Thanh – Le Chi Dan intersection, we met tens of visitors from Mekong provinces. Huynh Van Ngoc, head of a traveling group from Dong Thap province, said “Coffee shops herein are both cheap and comfortable space and enthusiastic service”.

Strong development of Hiep An seems to be anticipated since appearance of Dai Nam tourism site. Hiep An ward authorities and people have realized potentials of the locality.

As of June, 2013, Hiep An ward has 310 households involving in service business with the main field of eatery, lodging room, coffee shop and many more.

Tran Hong Thai, vice chairman of Hiep An ward People’s Committee affirmed that local authority has made efforts to cooperate with functional agencies to mobilize people to develop Hiep An into a tourism locality with safety and reasonable price.

In order to ensure the goal, local functional forces often hold patrols to inspect service business locations in the ward. Thai added that the ward leaders have eyed development structure of trade and service, industry and agriculture. This shows that the local trade-service turnover always reaches at a high level with more than 40% of total turnover.

One of typical policies for local trade-service development is preferential capital sources for local households. A leader of the ward said that to stimulate local economic growth, the ward in cooperation with functional agencies completes infrastructure facilities, especially traffic network.

The ward has won about VND184.2bil in the total retail and service turnover in June, up VND61.4bil compared to the same period last year.
