Binh Duong pays attention to environmental protection for sustainable development

On March 1, Mai Hung Dung, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired a meeting with a delegation from the Meti Kansai region (Japan) led by Morishita Tsuyoshi, Director of Department of Trade of Meti Kansai region. Matsumoto Izumi, First Secretary of the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, also attended the meeting.

According to a report of Provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the project to transfer technology, techniques, and train human resources in field of environment and energy saving (cooperative project between Meti Kansai region and Binh Duong province) has been implemented from November 2022. Accordingly, through training courses and seminars, it contributes to improving the capacity of environmental management staff, greatly assisting the development and promulgation of plans and regulations on environmental protection and pollution control, climate change response in the period 2021-2025, plan for classifying household solid waste at source in Binh Duong province in 2023-2025...

Speaking at the meeting, Morishita Tsuyoshi believed that through the cooperation project between the two parties, Japanese environmental technology will help Binh Duong province improve the local environment and become carbon neutral. Specifically, Japan will help Binh Duong to form ecological industrial parks and carbon neutral industrial parks...

Dung thanked the delegation for their interest in Binh Duong, and affirmed that the cooperation with the Meti Kansai region helps environmental management agencies and businesses in the province have the opportunity to gain experience in managing and applying digital technology to optimize efficiency in environmental protection, access to environmental equipment, wastewater monitoring equipment, automatic emissions... Since then, Binh Duong has orientation towards a circular economy, eco-industrial parks, energy saving solutions and implementation of gas emission monitoring. Thereby, helping the province improve its management and environmental protection capacity for sustainable development.
