Construction of key works, a driving force for sustainable socio-economic development

Binh Duong have obtained many great achievements in socio-economic fields. Regarding socio-economic and urban infrastructure, the province has built and put many key works into operation. The construction of key works is seen as a driving force for the local sustainable socio-economic development.

Change of urban image

Since early the 2010-2015 tenure of the 9^th provincial Party Committee, Binh Duong has focused on building many key works, directly influencing the local socio-economic development.

Binh Duong New City is one of the province’s most highlights. After four year-construction, it has become a civilized and modern urban area, helping TDM city diverse to be a second-class city. Especially, provincial Integrated Administration Center was inaugurated in February 2014, marking the local new pace in development. This will be the center of Binh Duong city under the central control by 2020.

Other key work is the Tan Van-My Phuoc expressway. This is a strategic traffic system connecting the southern industrial-urban development region with the northern region of the province. In 2014, the section of the expressway over TDM city opened to traffic, contributing to lessening traffic pressure for other roads. Many services have loomed large along the section, forming up the image of a modern city.

In Ben Cat town, the expanded 7A street project was completed and put into operation in 2014. The project has not only contributed to creating a civilized and modern face for the town, but also formed up a West-East traffic system connecting main streets, namely highway No.13, DT748 and DT744. It has also played an important role in the socio-economic development process of Ben Cat town and Dau Tieng district in particular and of the whole province in general.

Along with traffic works, the birth of trade centers has created a lever for the local development of hi-class trade and services. The most noticeable work in this field is Aeon mall under Japan’s Aeon Group. Covering 6.2 hectares with a total investment capital of US$95mln, the shopping center was inaugurated and put into operation in 2014.

Driving force for development

With a goal of becoming the centrally-controlled municipalities by 2020, Binh Duong has invested in socio-economic infrastructure in a synchronous way.

As planned, the province will spend VND5trillion on basic construction in 2015. Some projects with great investment capital include the central building under the provincial Integrated Administration Center project with VND300mln; the 1,500-bed general hospital project, VND200mln; the Ba Bo canal upgrading project, VND100bln; the Binh Duong water environment improvement project in the phase 2, VND80bln…

Many new projects, namely the Suoi Giua water drainage project in TDM city with a total investment capital of VND598.218mln, the Phu Thu crossroads project in Ben Cat town with VND103.39bln, the provincial Rehabilitation Hospital project with VND253.693mln…

To complete works and ensure their quality on 2015’s schedule, provincial Projects Management Board will boost coordination with provincial Land Fund Development Center, relevant units and localities; tighten control over monitoring work…

Modern and synchronous infrastructure investment will create favorable conditions for Binh Duong to cooperate with foreign partners, contributing to promoting the local industrial-services development. This will help the province reach sustainable development towards the goal of becoming one of the centrally-controlled municipalities by 2020.
