After one time of industrialization and modernization strengthened, Di An district’s socio-economic performance has seen changes and its objective of becoming a city of class 4 has also come true. With a strong industrialization speed and favorable location near HCM city, Di An district has opportunities to welcome urbanization development, due to its regional development element.
In 2010, Di An district’s economy has reaped a lot of encouraging successes. The district’s industrial production value is estimated at nearly VND32trillion, or 100% of the projection. Total retail sales revenue of commodities and services is estimated at more than VND8.08bln, up 34.86%. Whilst, total State budget revenue is estimated at VND1.766trillion.
Di An district’s urbanization takes place day by day
The district has also put 11 basic construction works into operation and now prepares for completing 11 works and starting construction for 18 others. Estimatedly, the total amount of capital disbursed for the district’s basic construction works will reach nearly VND300bln.
Dang Minh Hung, chairman of Di An district’s People’s Committee said that the district has fulfilled and exceeded many targets of the local socio-economic development in 2010. In 2011, the district’s targets are to achieve a 17% growth in industrial production value, reap a 35% growth in trade-service, spend VND340.2bln on basic construction…, making a firm premise to promote the local urbanization in the coming time.
Possibly speaking, Di An district’s goal of becoming a city of class 4 has come true in 2010. Le Thanh Cung, permanent vice-chairman of provincial People’s Committee said that Di An district needs to focus on great matters to promote urbanization, including making investment into infrastructure, water supply-drainage systems…More importantly, thanks to having a favorable location next to HCM city, a locality with strong urbanization speed, Di An district needs much preparation for urbanization development.
According to Mr.Hung, in 2011, Di An district will concentrate on site clearance, basic construction, traffic and urban rejuvenation…and also make a report on investment and construction of the Dong Tay Boulevard. Currently, HCM city develops the inner metro system with ending point in the Suoi Tien area. Hence, according to Huynh Van Minh, deputy director of provincial Department of Construction, Di An district needs to map out planning for a metro station…
