Di An’s Red Cross movements in 2013 under review

Di An town’s Red Cross Society has just held a conference to review its activities in 2013 and implement orientations, tasks for 2014.

As a top unit of the province in Red Cross movements with the achievement of winning the province’s emulation banners for 5 consecutive years, Di An town’s Red Cross Society in 2013 excelled at implementing emulation movements launched by provincial Red Cross Society. The town’s Red Cross Society mobilized officials, members and locals to donate 1,618 units of blood valued at more than VND700mln, up 16.6% of the year’s plan. The model of “Each organization, individual should stick to a humanitarian address” also mobilized donors and members of the local Volunteers’ Club to give financial support of more than VND2.3bln for more than 9,000 needy people. On Tet and great holidays, the society mobilized donors to present over 2,800 gifts to needy officials and members with a total expense of more than VND780mln. The society also handed over 5 Red Cross houses worth VND230.6mln to those with extremely difficult circumstances.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of Vietnam Red Cross Society also awarded the Red Cross mementoes to 6 individuals and 13 certificates of merit to 8 collectives, 8 individuals for their contributions to the local Red Cross movements.
