Diverse activities to take care of young workers

On April 25th, at provincial Integrated Administrative Center, Steering Committee of provincial Youth Activities organized the launching ceremony of the 8th provincial Vietnam's Workers Month and Youth Workers Week 2015. Mr. Tran Thanh Liem, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of PPC cum Head of Steering Committee of provincial Youth Activities attended the ceremony. Diverse activities in response to Workers Month and Youth Workers Week will contribute to upholding the role of workers, building the working class and to improving provincial social welfare.

Annual May, Binh Duong youth are excited to take part in Workers Month and Youth Workers Week with many activities and programs for young workers. At the launching ceremony, units, organizations and businesses set up many programs to care for young workers. Provincial Youth Union launched the pilot model “Mobile e-Library” and “Cultural lodging houses for youth”; and received contributions from businesses to Migrant young workers’ fund.

Besides, provincial Youth Union offered 30 gifts worth VND800,000 each to young workers having difficult circumstances, 15 supports worth VND1 million each to Migrant youth supporting fund.  Provincial Women's Union gave 10 supports worth VND1 million each to disadvantaged female workers under its affiliates. Provincial Labor Federation offered VND95 million to Trade Union of provincial industrial parks and VSIP Trade Union. 

Ms. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of provincial Youth Union, said: “The model “Cultural lodging houses for youth” of Tinh Van Hoa Company is lodging houses were built, managed in accordance with laws and regulations; furnished with bookshelves, medicine cabinets, sports grounds, and 4 sets of computer given by provincial Youth Union. Monthly, Youth Workers and Labours Supporting Center will give skills training to young persons in lodging house to take care of their life.

The model “Mobile e-Library” will bring books, newspapers, magazines and 20 laptops having Internet access to young persons at cultural centers and schools in remote areas 4 times a month in order to bring knowledge, science and technology to the youth and people.

Ms. Trang said, during the Workers Month, provincial Youth Union will host “National Excellent Young Workers Festival” and arranged a series of activities for young workers with “Following uncle Ho’s teachings day”. In addition, provincial Youth Union has directed its branches to devise plans to organize healthy playgrounds for young workers at all levels. Besides, annual activities for young workers will also happen, such as: Happy Sunday, discussions, health care, cultural shows, Youth Worker festive day, Youth Worker market, giving gifts to migrant workers, praising typical young workers, free health checking and medication, discount sales....  

Worker Vu Thi Phuong of Foster Electronics Company in Thuan An town said: “Coming to Binh Duong, I hope to be able to work in a good environment. Due to activities taking care of migrant workers, I can work enthusiastically and have considered Binh Duong as my second hometown”.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem asked departments, agencies, unions, localities, and businesses to continue to take good care of physical and spiritual life of young workers; construct cultural - sports institutions to meet the needs and improve the spiritual life of young workers. Mr. Liem also recommended young workers abiding by enterprise’s regulations, living consciously and being responsible to the community, to deserve to be good citizens, the pioneering force in the industrialization and modernization.
