"Education - Training is the leading national policy. Investment in education is investment for development and is given priority in socio-economic development programs and plans". With this meaning, for many years, Binh Duong has prioritized the local State budget for education with continuous development at the renewal requirements of the country in general, the construction and development of the province in particular.
Proper investment
Nguyen Phuong Dung, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Education and Training (DoET) said that over the past 5 years, provincial DoET reached vigorous development with the number of schools and classes at all levels on increase. As of the 2020-2021 school year, the province's education and training sector has a total of 703 schools and centers. The whole province had 287/370 public schools with national standards or 77.57% of total by the end of 2020. Especially, the province was among the country’s top localities in educational quality as of 2020, reaching the local target on education and training development.

According to Mrs. Dung, the above results have come from the province's continuous efforts in the cause of "cultivating people", including the close attention and direction of provincial leaders and good coordination between departments, sectors and mass organizations...The People's Committees of districts, towns and cities paid attention to setting aside land funds for building schools, classes in accordance with priority investment list at the requirements of the local educational development. “The province’s State budget for the development of schools and classes increases every year; the annual fund for educational activities is guaranteed; the local policies for managerial officials, teachers, staff and students are renewed in a timely manner in line with the local educational and socio-economic development situation”, she confirmed.
The province’s education and training sector has been continuously invested to improve the quality of teaching and learning at all levels. The local network of schools and classes is planned in line with the local socio-economic and educational development situation; the rate of new schools built in the direction of standardization increases steadily every year. In addition, the province’s equipment for educational activities is invested in a synchronous and modern direction. Managerial officials and teachers are also trained to improve their professional capacity and skills in setting up and implementing educational plans in the direction of students ‘capacity development.
Constantly improving quality
In a bid to develop the cause of "cultivating people", Binh Duong has paid attention to investing in material facilities, issuing many support policies for the local teachers and students. Since then, the province’s quality of education development has been improved at the requirements and targets of the province’s resolutions, programs and plans as well as at the requirements of basic and comprehensive reform in education and training in accordance with the Resolution No. 29 of the 8th Party Central Committee.
The results from the determination of the local education and training sector and the participation of the whole political system in the cause of education have brought positive results, in which the quality of the local education and training has reached proud development. Over the past 5 years, the number of the province’s students winning prizes at national competitions for good students increased gradually. The province maintained the number of students winning national prizes under the set target over the past three years. Particularly, there were 29 prizes in 2021, 34 prizes in 2020 and 32 prizes in 2021. Along with increase in the number of prizes increased, the quality of prizes won by the local students also grew up…
Not only obtaining achievements at national competitions for good students, the province has also made a very impressive hallmark at national high school graduation exams in recent years. In the 2019-2020 school year, although being affected by Covid-19 pandemic, the province achieved high results in the national high school graduation exam when ranking second among 62 provinces and cities across the country. The steady progress of the local education and training sector showed that the province has had proper investment in the field of education and training. The results achieved in this field have created the basic foundation for the province to build up high-quality human resources at the requirements of the local development strategies in the future.
Nguyen Phuong Dung, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Education and Training: Over the years, the province’s education and training sector received more investment in material facilities, ensuring learning spaces for students at all levels and improving the quality of education; consolidated and developed the results of education universalization and illiteracy eradication, especially in preventing three-case schooling that makes the quality of education in schools go down. On the other hand, the sector excelled at the annual procurement of educational equipment at teaching requirements. Especially, provincial DoET implemented a plan on investment in modern and advanced teaching equipment, helping schools effectively implement innovation in teaching methods and well organize online teaching...., significantly contributing to improving the quality of education, diversifying teaching forms.
Nguyen Hong Sang, former Director of provincial DoET: Over the past time, the province's education and training sector has always identified Binh Duong as one of the country’s top localities in socio-economic development. Therefore, the province’s educational task must not only catch up but also go ahead, creating favorable conditions for the local socio-economic development at a higher level. For these reasons, education must be invested to solve difficulties towards training global citizens.
