Efficiency from coherence in agricultural production

In the current situation, agricultural production needs to have a large amount of agricultural products with high quality and competitive price. This requires coherence from farmers in production in accordance with a common process. And Binh Duong has attached special importance to a cooperation model on agricultural production with results done, contributing to the local process of shifting economic structure.

Linkage for development

The province is now home to 110 cooperatives, including 22 on agricultural production, with more than 56,000 members. Cooperation models in agricultural production have reached a lot of changes from management to organization tasks.

The province has so far also developed 347 cooperation groups with 5,944 members. Thanks to coherence, the local farmers have received more investment in all aspects and been capable of building and managing collective brand names. This has also helped them build their products’ trademarks and well control over the quality of products at market’s demand.

Generating hi-quality products

Although being only established six months ago, a dairy cows-breeding cooperative in Ben Cat town’s An Dien commune has brought members practical results. The cooperative’s total herd of dairy cows has so far amounted to nearly 40, a two-fold increase compared to the figure when it was established.

Nguyen Thi Chung, member of the cooperative said that along with stability in terms of consumption market, she and other members have been regularly given support from officials of the local Farmers’ Association in animal husbandry techniques, ensuring their effectiveness of production at the highest level.

An Dien communal Farmers’ Association has also set up a cows-breeding cooperative of more than 50 cows with 13 participating households and a cooperative group on orchid growing with 4,000 square meters in total and 7 participating households. Huynh Van Tuan, Chairman of An Dien communal Farmers Association said that the above cooperation groups have received active support from Ben Cat town’s Agriculture Promotion Station, Plant Protection Station and Farmers’ Associations at all levels.

The province has also paid attention to cooperation models on agricultural production in urban areas. Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of TDM city’s Farmers’ Association said that all cooperatives and cooperation models under the management of the association have worked very effectively. The model of breeding discuses scientifically called “Symphysodon” is a typical example for this. It is very suitable to urban production models that are on robust growth at present with the monthly income of VND30mlm.

Along with stability in consumption market, support on nurslings, breeding animals…, the local farmers have had a chance to improve their production ability through training courses. This has also promoted coherence among them, contributing to creating products with high quality and competitive price at market’s demand.
