Promoting the role and motto of the Red Cross Society "For everyone, for everywhere", Binh Duong Provincial Red Cross Association has actively participated in social charity work, contributing to taking care of disadvantaged people's lives in the province. Many humanitarian movements and campaigns launched and implemented by the association have spread and are making a strong impression in social life.
Many meaningful activities
Not only during peak time but also after the Covid-19 has been under control until now, Binh Duong Provincial Red Cross, a humanitarian address on 30-4 Street in Phu Ward Hoa, Thu Dau Mot City, has become a meaningful meeting point of the association with disadvantaged people in the province.
Here, the "0VND market" is held 1-2 times/month to offer necessities to needy people, especially the blind, students of compassionate classes, lottery ticket vendors, freelance workers losing their jobs. Each market voucher is worth from 300,000 VND to 1.5 million VND.
The support received by the disadvantaged people in these 0VND markets is the efforts of the whole society, of the Provincial Red Cross, contributed by many units, businesses, organizations and benefactors.
The Provincial Red Cross Society present bicycles and scholarships to students who overcome difficulties in 2022-2023 school year
Especially, in this school year 2022-2023, the Provincial Red Cross has cooperated with the provincial education and training sector to effectively implement the program "Responding to school". Following the spirit of "Do not let any student out of school due to difficult circumstances", the Red Cross Association at all levels mobilized resources, awarded 768 bicycles and 2,455 scholarships to students who overcome difficulties.
Particularly, the Provincial Red Cross Association mobilized sponsors to support 700 bicycles, gifts and scholarships to give to the children, with a total budget of over 2.3 billion VND.
Nguyen Lam Bao Ngoc, a 6th grader of Dinh Hoa Junior High School in Thu Dau Mot City, was one of hundreds of students, who have overcome difficulties and were energized by this meaningful program.
Bao Ngoc said: “This school year, I am very happy to receive bicycles and scholarships supported by the Provincial Red Cross. This support helps me a lot. I have a new bicycle to go to school everyday, a scholarship to help my parents paying my school fees. I will try my best to study well so as not to disappoint ones who supported me."
Nguyen Thi Le Trinh, Chairwoman of Provincial Red Cross Association, said that to take care of disadvantaged and vulnerable groups, Provincial Red Cross has carried out many practical, meaningful activities that attracted the participation of many people from all walks of life, all join hands to implement social and humanitarian policies of the Party and State.
Some typical activities carried out by Red Cross associations at all levels are: movement "Tet for the poor and Agent Orange victims", movement "Each organization, each individual attaches to a humanitarian address", "Humanitarian month", "0VND market", building Red Cross houses, voluntary blood donation, programs to support student’s schooling...
Only in the 2016-2021 period, total expenditure of social and humanitarian activities of the whole provincial Red Cross network reached over 450.6 billion VND, helping over 1.8 million people. Particularly in this 2022, this number reached nearly VND 143 billion, helping over 554,000 people.
“These are very outstanding results demonstrating the cooperation and contribution of all levels of Party committees, authorities, agencies, units, businesses, benefactors inside and outside the province for those who have difficult circumstances, helping them have more motivation and confidence to better their lives," said Nguyen Thi Le Trinh.
Continue to work for the community
To join hands with the province to perform well social security work, connect and spread charitable actions in the community, the Provincial Red Cross will continue to carry out its noble humanitarian mission with specific goals and activities.
Nguyen Thi Le Trinh added that from the results and lessons learned in their work and movements, the Provincial Red Cross will advise and well implement the strategy "Development Vietnam Red Cross Society until 2030, a vision for 2045" with the message "Innovation for sustainable development".
The goal of Provincial Red Cross is to build a strong, professional association, step by step to be autonomous, adapt to the new situation, promptly and effectively respond to humanitarian issues from the grassroots level, contributing to the realization of social security policies, educate compassion, spread humanitarian values.

Regarding movement, the Provincial Red Cross will focus on improving the effectiveness of their humanitarian activities in order to attract more resources and coordinate humanitarian and charity activities in the community.
The entire Red Cross network considers charity work, dissemination of humanitarian values as a fundamental and imperative task; the implementation of disaster prevention and response activities, building and transferring safe community models, providing health care in emergency situations, voluntary blood donation, and donation of human tissues and organs is the foundation task; effectively organization of first aid activities is a breakthrough task…
Red Cross Associations at all levels in the province will continue to carry out activities according to the Resolution of Provincial Red Cross Congresses at all levels, such as: Program "Spring of Compassion"; campaign "Each organization, each individual attaches to a humanitarian address", voluntary blood donation movement, building Red Cross houses; 0VND markets; growing piggy banks; Humanitarian Month activities; unexpected gift visits; community-based people's health care programs and other humanitarian activities.
In addition, the Provincial Red Cross also do some programs "Safety for poor and disadvantaged fishermen" and "Nutrition for poor and disabled children"; movement "Good people, good deeds - Working together to build a compassionate community" launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross.
"Through the above humanitarian activities, the association will contribute to the province to well perform social security work, connect and spread charitable actions in the community," shared Nguyen Thi Le Trinh.
