Efforts to take care of employees on Tet

The efforts and care from authorities, mass organizations, businesses, owners of the local lodging facilities have shared some difficulties and helped workers living away from home enjoy a warm and happy Tet.  

Creating motivation for employees

Despite facing difficulties in production orders, many businesses have still made efforts to overcome difficulties, maintain jobs, ensure salaries and Tet bonuses for employees as every year. At Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd in Di An city, despite facing difficulties in production and business activities, the company has still ensured all Tet care regimes for employees as every year. After the announcement, thousands of workers working here are very excited and secure to work until the last day before entering the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2023.

Mai Phu Hung, Vice-Chairman of Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd.’s trade union local said that the company’s production and business activities this year also faced difficulties with the amount of orders being lower than before. Right from the end of November, the company’s trade union local has actively set up a plan to take care of trade unionists and employees; proposed the directorate to maintain and ensure the regimes and policies to take care of Tet as every year with activities paying tribute to contributions by employees to the overall development of the company while creating motivation for them to keep their mind on work for  long-term attachment with the company.

Accordingly, in addition to the 13th month salary bonus, the company continues maintaining the organization of vehicles for workers to return their hometowns for Tet. The company’s trade union local will also give Tet gifts for trade unionists and employees and recheck a list of  trade unionists and workers with extremely difficult circumstances to propose the superior trade union for more support...

Nguyen Thi Sang, a worker of Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd., said: “I am very comfortable when working here because my job, income and Tet bonus are always stable. The company’s trade union local also organizes many activities to take care of laborers on Tet, so my family just needs to buy a few more things to have a full Tet.

Chi Hung Co., Ltd. in Tan Uyen town has also faced difficulties in terms of orders, so it has had to reduce working hours. But, the company’s plan for Tet has been announced to more than 6,500 employees. Like previous years, the company will still offer the 13-month salary bonuses for all employees together other related policies. In addition, the company's trade union local has proposed the directorate to organize activities in celebration of the Lunar New Year 2023 such as organizing a lucky draw program, giving lucky money at the beginning of the year, giving Tet gifts worth VN700,000 each for all employees...

Warm spring

In order to share difficulties with workers, provincial People's Council’s Commission for Cultural - Social Affairs, Labor Union and donors have visited, encouraged and offered gifts to employees with extremely difficult circumstances.

Nguyen Thi Tien, a worker of Thong Thuan Company in Thuan An city-based Viet Huong Industrial Park, staying at the lodging facility of Pham Van Nghia's family in Thu Dau Mot city’s Phu Hoa ward said that over the past several months, the company faced difficulties in production activities, with decrease in orders, so it reduced working hours, making laborers ‘income go down. Meanwhile, the cost of living has increased, making her family get more difficult. Sympathizing with workers ‘difficulties, owner of the lodging facility has also considered reducing rental charges. “Recently, I have also received a gift from authorities and trade union organizations. I and other laborers with the same situation at the lodging facility felt very happy!”, said she.

Nguyen Thi Song, a worker of Bao Tien Co., Ltd., who lives in a lodging facility in Thu Dau Mot city’s Phu Loi ward said that like many workers, the impacts of Covid-19 over the past 2 years made her family get more difficult. This year, the company's production and business activities faced difficulties, so the amount of work also decreased. “When hearing that provincial Trade Union and Agribank will visit, encourage and give gifts, I and other workers here are very happy. These are very meaningful and practical gifts for us at the moment,” said she.

Understanding workers ‘difficulties, many lodging owners have also reduced rental charges for employees by VND300,000 - VND500,000 per month per room. Nguyen Thi Kieu, the owner of Pham Van Nghia lodging facility said: "Through information from lodgers, it has been known that over the past few months, many people had no jobs and income, due to companies facing difficulties. From the mobilization of the local government and the trade union, my family has decided to reduce rental charges for employees with the level of VND 300,000 - VND500,000 per month per room. In addition, like previous years, my family has also prepared Tet gifts, including cooking oil, seasoning powder, sugar ..., in order to offer them to lodgers on December 23 of lunar calendar."
