The "Tet reunion - Spring cohesion" program has just been organized by provincial Labor Union in collaboration with Tan Uyen town’s People's Committee to start a series of programs to take care of laborers with extremely difficult circumstances, helping them enjoy a warm and joyful Tet.

Sharing difficulties

The "Tet reunion" program is organized annually by provincial Labor Union as spring comes. This is a key activity in the trade union's series of activities to take care of disadvantaged employees on Tet. Attending the program early, Nguyen Van Toan, from Ha Tinh, a worker of Dafi Co., Ltd. in Tan Uyen town said that workers living away from home faced a very difficult period over the past 2 years, due to Covid-19 pandemic. In 2022, the company continued facing difficulties, due to the lack of orders, so it cut down laborers ‘working hours and incomes, making their lives get more difficult. Normally, if he works overtime regularly, his income is nearly VND10 million per month, which is enough to pay for accommodation, monthly living expenses and save a part of them to send back to his hometown. For the past few months, the company has reduced working hours without overtime, so his income is only over VND4 million per month.

After many years of not being able to return hometown, this year I will be reunited with my family to celebrate Tet. With the money saved from buying train tickets back to my hometown, I will give it for my parents and buy a few more Tet gifts for children in my hometown", Toan shared.
