Enterprises create favorable conditions for employees to cast their votes

 Enterprises in the province have proactively set up reasonable production schedules to avoid working overtime on election day (Sunday, May 23) in order to create favorable conditions for employees to well exercise their rights and obligations in the deputy election of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels 2021-2026.

 Workers are ready to vote

In the past few days, more than 7,000 workers of Thong Dung Footwear Company (Thuan An City), were eager to cast their votes  to exercise the rights and obligations of citizens. Tsai Pu Chuo, Director of Thong Dung Footwear Company, said that May 23 is the election day for the 15th National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels 2021-2026. Therefore, from beginning of the second quarter 2021, Directors Board of the company arranged their production plan to avoid working overtime on Sunday (May 23) to create favorable conditions for their employees to well implement the rights and obligations of voters to the election.

Nguyen Thi Hoa, an employee of the company, said: “I am ready for this Sunday morning (May 23) to go to the polls. I will strictly comply with regulations on disease prevention control at the polling station such as wearing a mask, washing hands with sanitizer, measuring body temperature before entering voting areas. In particular, I will examine and select candidates who are virtuous, talented, qualified and worthy to represent the will and aspirations of the people for the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels.

Similarly, other companies in the province arranged production schedule to avoid overtime working on May 23, creating favorable conditions for employees to vote. Lin Kuan Cheng, Deputy General Director of Primacy Company (My Phuoc 1 Industrial Park), said that although this was the peak time to complete POs and delivery to customers, the company decided not to arrange overtime shifts on election day (May 23) so that workers have time to vote and fulfill their duties as citizens.

And at Yazaki Eds Vietnam Company (Di An City), nearly 7,000 workers were also eagerly waiting for the election day. Pham Thi Tuyet Nhung, Head of Production Planning Department of this company, said: “The company is in production peak season and has a lot of POs, so recently, the company often schedules overtime hours on Sundays to promptly complete orders and deliver to customers on time. However, perceiving the importance of the deputy election of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels, the company's Directors Board actively adjusted the work schedule, not arranged overtime hours on Sunday (May 23) to create favorable conditions for employees to perform well the obligations of voters.

To actively disseminate information

According to statistics from Provincial Labor Confederation, by mid-May, the province had 3,150 enterprises with grass-roots trade unions, a total of more than 850,000 employees, without overtime hours on Sunday (May 23), contributing to ensuring the rights and obligations of voters. In order to help business owners understand the meaning of the deputy election of 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels 2021-2026, in addition to intensify propagation among workers in various forms, trade unions at all levels in the province also timely communicated the election to business owners so that companies proactively arrange reasonable schedules on Sunday (May 23).

Dang Thi Kim Chi, Trade Union Chairwoman of Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Parks Union (VSIP), said that from beginning of April, VSIP Trade Union had directed grassroots trade unions to put more effort into election communication among union members, workers; and timely informed contents as well as election date so that business owners know and proactively have a reasonable work schedule. Up to now, companies in VSIP have not arranged overtime hours on Sunday (May 23) so that all employees can exercise their voting rights well. Truong Van Phi, Trade Union Vice Chairman of Ben Cat Industrial Parks, said that thanks to timely information and propagation to businesses, companies having trade unions in Ben Cat Industrial Parks would not work overtime on the coming Sunday (May 23).

Binh Duong is an developing industrial province, with more than 1.2 million workers, of which the number of workers coming from outside the province accounts for more than 80%. Therefore, the fact that enterprises did not arrange overtime work schedule on election day will create favorable conditions for workers to fulfill obligations of voters.
