Enterprises shield off Covid-19 epidemic

Professional medical division established

Kurabe Company at VSIP 1 Industrial Park of Thuan An city is one of the leading enterprises in the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control right from the beginning of 2020. Having the number of workers up to 3,000 people, ensuring the health of workers and not affecting production is always concerned by the grassroots trade union as well as business leaders. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ngu, Chairman of the Trade Union of Kurabe Company, said that the organization of disease prevention and control at the company was not passive. Even on normal days when there is no epidemic, the company still conducts temperature measurement and implements disease prevention and control according to the "5K" message of Ministry of Health in the last 2 years. In this fourth wave of Covid-19 epidemic, the company has quickly set up a Steering Committee for disease prevention and control.

Accordingly, in the enterprise, 4 epidemic prevention and control teams of 22 people have been established in 4 workshops. The members of the epidemic prevention and control team must come to work earlier than the workers to separate the flow, create distance, and measure body temperature as the workers enter the working shifts. By the end of the day, the force returns home later than everyone else because they have to perform additional disinfection of some necessary places including the cafeteria. Currently, the company has a medical room to examine employees' diseases and has increased the number to 4 people instead of 2 as before. The people in the teams have all studied medicine to have professional qualifications and degrees. The company's medical force continuously checks during working hours, if any cases related to the disease are detected, they will be promptly handled.

Similarly, Apparel Far Eastern Vietnam Co. Ltd. in VSIP 1 has also strictly implemented disease prevention and control. Recently, the company carried out measuring body temperature by electronic system not letting people in charge in the epidemic prevention and control groups come into close contact with the workers and strengthen medical staff of professional skills. All workers must install Bluezone. Teams set up Zalo groups to receive deployment information from the company as quickly as possible.

As noted by the reporter, many businesses inside and outside the industrial parks in the province have implemented a very good disease prevention and control system in accordance with the direction of the trade unions as well as the official dispatch of the provincial People's Committee. This has both ensured the "health" for businesses to maintain production and business activities and, at the same time, to ensure safety and prevention of epidemics among employees, helping them feel secure at work.

Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control measures proactively applied

Right from the early days of May, 2021 when the 4th wave of Covid-19 epidemic occurred, the provincial People's Committee issued an urgent document requesting businesses inside and outside the industrial parks to strictly implement the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control plans under the direction of the Prime Minister. The provincial People's Committee assigned the Management Board of the provincial Industrial Parks to coordinate with the districts, towns and cities to develop scenarios to respond to each specific situation when detecting cases of F0, F1, F2, F3 exposure to Covid-19. Accordingly, the Management Board of the provincial Industrial Parks must regularly organize delegations to inspect the implementation of the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control plan in enterprises like strictly carrying out medical checks, requiring workers to make daily medical declarations before entering factories and enterprises, implementing distancing in labor, production and dining activities at companies and factories.

Recently, Ministry of Health has issued Decision No. 2787/QD-BYT on promulgating guidelines for disease prevention and control plans when there are cases of Covid-19 infection at production and business establishments and industrial parks. Immediately, the provincial Trade Union has deployed the plan to all businesses located in the area. Mr. Le Van Hieu, Chairman of Thuan An city Trade Union said: “After receiving instructions from the provincial Trade Union, we have implemented the guidance of Ministry of Health to all businesses. Thereby, if an epidemic occurs in the enterprise, the unit will apply the guidance in the most flexible way."

The guidance states: as a case of Covid-19 occurs at an enterprise, it is necessary to immediately activate the disease prevention and control plans; to decide to temporarily block all production and business establishments, industrial parks or workshops, production lines, production teams, production areas, and working location with cases of infection (F0) on the basis of the actual situations, to quarantine F0 cases on the spot at production and business establishments, industrial parks and immediately notify the health authorities for quarantine, treatment and zoning and disinfecting according to the regulations, to notify all employees present at production and business establishments and industrial parks, to require employees to seriously declare health status and implement the "5K" message of Ministry of Health, and not to cause confusion and worry for employees.

Units are to review all employees in production and business establishments and industrial parks according to the list of management, to urgently trace all cases of close contact (F1), cases of contact with F1 (F2), absolutely not to be missed, to implement centralized quarantine of all F1 cases and isolate at home and place of residence of F2 cases. Before sending F1 cases to concentrated quarantine, units will group according to working location and exposure risk to arrange medical quarantine in the same area as those with the same working location and exposure risk.

At the same time, the units should make a list of employees as F1, F2, and other cases not present at the production and business establishments and industrial parks at the time of blockade and send them to Department of Health or the district-level Health Center where the employees are for treatment according to the regulations; and at the same time, to coordinate with health authorities in informing these subjects to stay at home or places of residence and make medical declarations and implement epidemic prevention and control measures at the request of health authorities. The units should coordinate with Department of Health and the provincial Center for Disease Control to collect samples for testing according to the risk of workers and to assess the epidemiological relationship of workshops, production lines, production teams, production areas, and other working locations with areas of detected F0 cases.
