Environment festival to get animated

On May 28 ahead, an environment festival will take place at Binh Chuan primary school in Thuan An town with a lot of practical activities in response to the World Environment Day, June 5.

From contests…

Since March 2016, units in collaboration with provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment have organized plenty of contests in response to the World Environment Day 2016. Particularly, provincial Department of Education-Training launched a drawing contest on environmental protection from March 25 to April 30. The organizers have till now received entries selected from 23 primary schools in Thuan An town. Most entries have reflected the situation of environmental pollution from water, soil, air, waste…or environmental protection actions as well as pupils’ dreams of a green, clean and beautiful environment.

Provincial Youth Union also launched a contest on “New vitality from waste” from March 19 to April 30. So far, the organizing board of the contest has received a lot of products recycled from waste.

Animation with Environment Festival

As planned, Binh Chuan primary school in Thuan An town will organize a program named “Environment Festival” in response to the World Environment Day, June 5. The program will take place animatedly with special art performance items disseminating information of environmental protection. The organizers will also award prizes to winners of the above two contests…

In addition, the festival will organize folk games, booths on activities of environmental protection, a drama “Sharing efforts in protecting natural resources and environment…Coming to the festival, visitors are able to exchange waste for gifts. With such significant activities, the festival will contribute to raising public awareness of environmental protection.

The festival is expected to absorb 850 participants, including leaders of the province, districts, towns,TDM city and provincial Youth Union together with teachers and pupils from Binh Chuan primary school and remaining 22 schools in Thuan An town.

Over the past time, the province also stepped up propaganda work on environmental protection via the mass media, contributing to mobilizing locals to engage in activities for a green, clean and beautiful environment, including the “Green Sunday” campaign. As planned, provincial Volunteer Youth
Squad on Environmental Protection will collect rubbish, water hyacinth, clearing canals in Thuan An town, TDM city while delivering leaflets, hanging posters on propaganda of environmental protection  at markets, lodging facilities or in residential areas.

This year’s World Environment Day is implemented under the theme of “Nature’s call and our actions”, aiming to inspire people around the world to take action to prevent the strain on planet Earth’s natural systems from reaching breaking point. The theme is the fight against illegal wildlife trade, which erodes the precious biodiversity and threatens the survival of animals in the world.
