Over the past 12 years (June 28, 2001), value of family has been honored and kept by the society. In this year, the Vietnam Year of Family 2013 is to honor profound humanitarian values of Vietnam Family Day with the purpose of promulgating and mobilizing people to implement a civilized lifestyle and build a cultural family, promoting Vietnamese family’s traditions. This will raise all level sectors and agencies’ awareness on role, position and importance of family to implement better work on family construction for the sake of building prosperous, advanced and happy Vietnam families in a bid to effectively implement the 11th Party Congress’ Resolution and strategy of family development till 2020 and vision 2030.

What is the theme of Vietnam Family Day 2013 and what concrete action plans will be set out in this year?

"Connecting love in Vietnamese families" is the main theme in this year with the purpose of helping localities launch activities on family work and domestic violence control.

This is to maintain model of reinforcing cultural family, promulgating lifestyle morality in Vietnam family and excelling movement of “All people unite to build cultural life” in this province.

This year’s concrete action plans include honoring 65 cultural and happy families, disseminating widely family day, holding talkshow on family happiness, promulgating Vienam Family Day and the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, especially, selecting 3 most typical families in the province to attend in the 4th Southeastern Family Day with the participation of families from provinces such as Binh Thuan, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh.

Could you assess this year’s family day held at localities?

Overall, 7 districts, townships and city have excelled the festive day’s programs. Notably, 2 units of Di An town and Thu Dau Mot city excellently complete this work. Lively ambience of Vietnam Family Day has created interesting playgrounds for family members. For children, this is an impressive summer vacation.
