Focus on improving skills for teachers, students

In 2 seasons of Binh Duong province vocational teaching festival 2011 and 2014, Dong An high-tech vocational college obtained many prizes. This proved high experiences and skills of the school’s teaching staff.

Dong An high-tech vocational college was established in 2008. The school is located in Binh Thang ward, Di An town in an area of 30 hectares. At the present, the school has 45 teachers, gives vocational training of 19 majors with third-level qualifications.

At Binh Duong province vocational teaching festival 2011, the school achieved one first prize, two third prizes; in 2014 season, the school achieved three first prizes, one second prize, two third prizes. These achievements were efforts of all teachers and students.

Principal Tran Huu Lich said, since establishment, the school has given training courses of teaching skills, soft skills, foreign languages for young teaching staff to improve their professional. Class supervision is carried out frequently. Annually, a teaching festival is organized at school for teachers to exchange experiences, fostering teaching emulation movements.

In addition, the school has invested in modern teaching equipment and infrastructure. Currently, 100% subjects are equipped fully. Besides, the school also cooperates with enterprises, such as: Intel Vietnam, On Semiconductor, Masan group, Sabeco, Greystone, Mabuchi Motor, CNC tech… to give practical training to students.

In addition to theory, the school has focused on practicing with machinery in workshop. Namely, 19 practicing workshops were imported from Germany, China for Electricity, Industrial Electronics faculty; 13 workshops were imported from USA, Japan, Korea for Metal Cutting, Mechatronics… In addition, the high-tech center at school has 16 Doosan CNC machines and 4 Mazak CNC machines imported from Korea and Japan. The center has been a place for faculty and students to practice, and other schools to visit and learn.

MSc Nguyen Binh Phuong Thao said: “Previously, I was a lecture in HCM City. Due to introduction of a friend, I came here to teach and have been pleased with the healthy environment, complete workshops here. With complete infrastructure, I believe, teaching and learning will be easier”.

Student Le Hoang Nam said: “Here I can not only learn theory but also have practice lessons. I can understand more what teachers said while practicing”.

According to the development strategy, by 2020, Dong An high-tech vocational college will become a high-quality education facility and move to university education.
