In the market of Q4 2014, pork stayed stable at VND 50,000 to 52,000 a kilo, garden chicken at VND 42,000 to 46,000 a kilo, chicken reared in farms at VND 32,000 to 37,000 a kilo, eggs at VND 1,550 to 1,800 per egg. As the supplying sources grow in quantity and stable buy-in expenses, it is expected that pork and chicken prices should be at minimum risks of price hiking.
At husbandry farm of Mr. Pham Van Tao at Lai Nguyen Commune of Bau Bang District, it is expected that pork supply shall be doubled during Tet. Starting out by a traders of pig for meat for over 10 years, he switched to husbandry to supply for Vissan Corporation on monthly contracts for averagely 6,000 pigs a month. Tao is expected to earn more during Tet.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Loan residing at An My Hamlet, An Son Commune in Thuan An Town, informed of production increment to timely supply for Tet. In the beginning of January she invested into1,600 breed chicken to ensure production of Tet.
Disease prevention
Not farmers alone, food enterprises are planning for supplying for Tet. For supplying sources of poultries, cattles and eggs, it is expected that the market shall be supplied with over 1,000 tons of cattle meat, 5,300 tons of pork, 680 tons of poultry meat, and 12 million eggs.
Mr. Pham Thanh Hung, Deputy Director of Ba Huan Co. Ltd. informed that during Tet, the Company should supply 400,000 poultry eggs to the market. In
Aside from fresh foods for daily use, the processed foods are also thoroughly prepared by farmers including cakes from eggs, sausages, and stuffed foods.
r. Truong Van Duc, Head of Binh Duong Provincial Veterinary Division, warned of disease outbreak risks as the production for Tet is picking up. To ensure safety, the functional agencies have engaged in disease prevention activities. It is expected that quality and quantity of husbandry supply should be assured for Tet Holiday 2015.
