Further supporting trade unionists and employees who are reduced working hours or lost jobs

Update: 14-08-2023 | 10:54:47

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) is preparing a report on further supporting trade unionists and employees who are reduced working hours or lost their jobs,  due to enterprises facing difficulties.

The VGCL forecasts that the labor market in the last 6 months of the year will further face many risks and challenges, especially in the context that the Covid-19 epidemic is still affecting. The decline in purchasing power in export markets; conflict between Russia - Ukraine; inflation, high prices, tight monetary policy... lead to workers further losing their jobs and reducing working hours, reducing incomes, making their lives get difficult. The difficult situation is forecasted to continue until the end of 2023.

Based on the actual situation, the Presidium of the VGCL has been asked for further implementing a policy on supporting trade unionists and employees under the Resolution No. 06/NQ-TLD. The support period is from April 1, 2023 to the end of December 31, 2023. The deadline for receiving dossiers is January 31, 2024. The time limit for completing support procedures for trade unionists and employees is March 31, 2024 with regulations on subjects, conditions, support levels, order, procedures remaining unchangeable… The total estimated cost is about VND 145 billion.
