Between 2005 and 2010, provincial Committee for Catholic Solidarity mobilized the Catholic community to well realize the patriotic emulation movements and reap considerable results, contributing to promoting the province’s socio-economic development. Noticeably, there were many good deeds in terms of social charity activities, economic development, public healthcare and education, crime prevention…through the patriotic emulation movements among the Catholic community.

 

 

Outstanding individuals among the Catholic community honored

 

During the period, parishioners in the province contributed nearly VND8bln for the community development and spent more than VND12bln on social-charity activities. Of these, a social-humanitarian group under the Phu Cuong Bishopric spent more than VND7.4bln on social-charity activities. Parishioners in TDM town also built 189 compassionate houses with a total expense of nearly VND2bln…

 

The Catholic community in the province also raised a fund of more than VND12bln for study promotion. Noticeably, parishes in Phu Giao district took lead in the study promotion work. More than VND7.5bln was also contributed to public healthcare over the past time.

 

Upholding the achievements done over the past time, provincial Committee for Catholic Solidarity has called the Catholic community to actively respond to the patriotic emulation movements in building cultured lifestyle in residential areas, preventing social evils, getting involved in social charity activities, developing education career and public healthcare…

 

Mrs.Dao Ngoc Nu, chairwoman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee said that the Catholic community over time made contributions to the province’s industrialization and modernization process. In a recent conference highlighting exemplary role-models among the Catholic community, Mrs.Nu also called for the Catholic community to further uphold the patriotic spirit and launched the emulation movements “Advanced parishes, exemplary role-model Catholic families” which are closely linked with the campaign “The entire people consolidate to build cultural lifestyle in residential areas” among the Catholic community…, positively contributing to the province’s development.
