The HCM city Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Suoi Tien Tourist Area co-held a press conference to introduce the Southern Fruit Festival 2012 on the afternoon of May 22.  

 This year’s festival will open on June 1 and close on June 23 at the Suoi Tien Tourist Area in HCM City’s District 9.

 A variety of activities will be held during the festival, including a contest for making things from fruit, fruit cuisine, an exhibition, a fruit parade, artistic displays, traditional music and folk games.

 La Quoc Khanh, deputy director of the HCM city Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the Southern Fruit Festival 2012 will announce three records on fruit. This is also a chance to honor gardeners in the southeastern region in particular and in Vietnam in general and stimulate tourism demand at home and abroad.
