Issues on environment to be implemented in 2015

Under its 2015 Plan on Environmental Protection, Binh Duong will focus on absolutely dealing with “hot” places on environment; inspecting and solving areas with flooding; removing production facilities that have caused environmental pollution from residential and urban areas…

Particularly, provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DoNRE) will bend on absolutely tackling “hot” places on environment, namely Ba Bo canal, Bung Cu stream, Siep stream; promote provincial Plan on Environmental Protection in the 2011 and 2015 period and Plan on Environmental Protection for the Dong Nai river valley, especially South Binh Duong water drainage and waste treatment projects; finish the removal of production facilities causing environmental pollution from residential and urban areas…

Provincial DoNRE will also deliberate and set up projects to improve infrastructure of existing industrial parks and compounds; tighten control over environmental protection at enterprises and industrial parks; closely control the production, import and use of chemicals, plant protection medicine and fertilizer in agricultural production; keep a close watch on the import of wasted materials and second-hand machines and equipment doing harm to environment; maintain programs on environmental surveillance, update the figures to assess the quality of the local environment; expand automobile waste water surveillance systems at industrial parks and some enterprises with a large amount of waste water.

Besides, the 2015 provincial Plan on environmental protection will put focus on perfecting hospitals’ medical waste treatment, transportation and collection system; support the local activities of classifying, collecting, transporting and treating solid waste; build up models on management of fertilizer, plant protection medicine after being used, ensuring the local environmental hygiene between 2014 and 2016; check and assess the risk of causing environmental pollution from the local animal husbandry and slaughtering activities for timely measures against environmental pollution.

The plan will also conduct an investigation on areas with the risk of flooding for proper solution; make biodiversity conservation; take measures on forest protection amid climate change; make models on community-based sustainable forest management, protection and use (in the phase 2); tap 2 important areas in biodiversity conservation, including Kien An forest relic and Cau mountain (in the phase 2) and map out a plan against environmental incidents caused by forest fire (in the phase 2).

Such these apart, provincial DoNRE will increase human resources; actively make propaganda work to raise public awareness of environmental protection; approve and carry out a plan on improving surveillance capacity in the 2011-2015 period; boost a task of collecting environmental fees for industrial waste water; digitalize all documents of enterprises under district-level control into provincial e-portal on environmental management to serve State administration work on environment.
