Binh Duong province has always paid attention to propaganda on environmental protection at schools. This year, provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DoNRE) has continued making dissemination of information about environmental protection at schools by the “Green Talk” program in response to the World Environment Day (June 5).
Boosting education on environmental protection
In response to this year’s Word Environment Day under the theme of “Beat plastic pollution”, provincial DoNRE, Youth Union and FrieslandCampina Company have signed a cooperation agreement on the organization of communication activities, raising pupils and students’ awareness of environmental protection.
A “green” talk for pupils at Di An primary school in Di An town
Nguyen Hong Nguyen, Vice-Director of provincial DoNRE said that this year’s World Environment Day 2018 under the theme of “Beat plastic pollution” aims to call for people from all strata to limit plastic pollution by many forms, actively raise their awareness and action of environmental protection.
Also according to him, the province’s communication activities on environmental protection this year are very diversified and lively. Along with activities in response to the World Environment Day, there are some classes on environmental protection for primary-school pupils in Thuan An town, Di An town, TDM city…The local sector of natural resources and environment will also continue organizing a contest on video clips disseminating environmental protection for teachers and pupils at primary schools…
Provincial DoNRE and relevant units have organized education on environmental protection at 20 primary schools by “green” talks. Besides, provincial DoNRE has held a training course on environmental protection for heads of the HCM Young Pioneer Organization branches and teachers at primary schools.
Bringing knowledge on environmental protection to schools
Nguyen Thi Ngoc Linh, Principal of Di An primary school in Di An town said that “green” talks are organized on Monday mornings by the school, thereby raising pupils’ awareness of environmental protection.
Nguyen Van Anh, Head of provincial Youth Union’s Board of Youth Workers and Rural Youths said that the “Green talk” program is expected to be organized at 20 primary schools with 40,000 pupils.
Leader of the Environment Department under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has spoken highly of the efforts by the province in education of environmental protection at schools. Changing awareness of environmental protection of pupils when being still young will bring great changes to the whole community in the future so that Binh Duong will have a safe and quality living environment.
